The Hoohoo civilization, developed by a people called the Hoohooligans, was an ancient group mentioned in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. They lived on Hoohoo Mountain and wrote their countless jokes using a type of pictograph called Hooroglyphs.

Hoohooros was the ancient weapon of the civilization. The civilization is mentioned to have been a "once great people" by the modern day people of Hoohoo Village, who are believed to be their descendants. They may have also had a hand in the construction of Guffawha Ruins, where Hooroglyphs can also be found.
