Tightrope Treachery (stylized as TightRope Treachery) is a 1-vs-3 minigame in Mario Party. It was later remade into Rainbow Run in Mario Party 2.

Gameplay

The solo player walks on the tightrope, while the other three players have to use cannon boats to shoot the other player down. Getting hit by cannonballs is not the only way the player on the tightrope can lose balance; gusts of wind can also try to blow the player off the tightrope. If the team players manage to make the solo player fall down from the tightrope or prevent them from reaching the goal line before time runs out, they win and steal five Coins each from the solo player. If the solo player successfully makes it to the goal line, they win and steal five Coins from each of the team players.

The minigame can be purchased from the Mini-Game House for 350 coins.

Ending

  • If the solo player wins, that player does a winning animation while the other three do losing animations.
  • If the team players win, they do winning animations, but the "Miss!" music plays.
    • If the solo player falls off, a Blooper carries them away and the announcer says, "Miss!"
    • If time runs out, the solo player does a losing animation while the announcer says, "Time up!"
  • On Mini-Game Island, regardless of whether the player clears the minigame or not, the announcer always says, "Finish!"
