Loopdeeloop Galaxy
Template:Articleabout Template:Galaxybox The Loopdeloop Galaxy is a galaxy in Super Mario Galaxy, and is located within the Terrace. It is a ? Block before it is unlocked. It will be unlocked after five Stars are collected. This galaxy is basically a long flow of water across the sky where Mario plays Manta Ray Surfing. It is inhabited by Penguins, most of whom cheer Mario on from the sidelines. This galaxy doesn't have any enemies at all.
Planets/Areas
Loopdeloop Planet
The Loopdeeloop Planet is a large planet made almost entirely of water with several coins floating in it and a few gates. It is the very first planet visited by Mario in the level Surfing 101; the only level in this galaxy. At the very beginning of the planet there is a large grassy platform with several Penguins and Coach on top of it. Coach will offer to train Mario to surf on a Manta Ray named Ray for the big race.
Once Mario completes his training he must go to the actual arena where there is a possibility that he will fall off the sides. Mario must then race down the planet on top of Ray avoding fish and getting the Coins and Star Bits. There are also numerous 1-Up Mushrooms and gates along the way. After passing the finish line Mario is automatically transported to the Prize Planet to claim victory.
Prize Planet
The Prize Planet is a large stone planet off to the side of the Loopdeeloop Planet. It is accessed automatically as soon as Mario crosses the finish line on the Loopdeeloop Planet and is the last planet in the galaxy. On one side of the planet there is a podium with three different levels labeled 1, 2 and 3. Under the number 1 on the tallest step, a carving of a Manta Ray (possibly Ray himself) shows that whoever stands on this position won the race.
Off to the other side of the planet, Coach is standing there and he congratulates Mario on achieving victory and then releases a Power Star which goes and settles on top of the center of the podium.
Terrace Planets
The Terrace Planets are numerous stone platforms floating in the air around the Loopdeeloop Planet. They are inaccessible to Mario and are covered in Penguins who are cheering him on from the sidelines. They look exactly like the Prize Planet except for the lack of the podium and Coach is not there.
Levels
Surfing 101
Surfing 101 is the only level in this Galaxy, which Mario rides a Manta named Ray along the Loopdeloop Galaxy to earn a Power Star. The course contains 3 1-Up Mushrooms in addition to 50 coins (including the training course coins). The player does not need to beat the best time, just survive the course. This level appears to be analogous to Blooper Surfing Safari in Super Mario Sunshine, in which Mario rides a Blooper in Ricco Harbor. If Mario manages to survive the race track and pass under the finish line, then the Coach will give the player a Power Star. At the beginning, there will be four penguins and Coach. Mario must walk up to coach to start the race, he has the choice between taking a tutorial and starting the race immediately, the tutorial has many star bits and coins on it that Mario can collect. Going through a gate leads Mario to the real race. The first part of the race is pretty straight with almost no turns, five coins and a 1-up but then the turns start and Mario must work hard to maneuver through it all. After some very tight twists and turns, there is a giant drop which can cause Mario to be frightened and fly off but as long as the controller is held straight, nothing will happen. After a second drop like that, the finish line comes in sight after the sharpest turn so far and Mario will win the race. Coach will then bring Mario to a small platform with a score block and give him a Power Star (the gold medal for the race).

- Although this galaxy's name comes from the term "loop-de-loop", there are no loops in this course. There is a loop, however, in Loopdeswoop Galaxy.
