A balloon is an item used in some Mini Battles with Bandits in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3. It is used in two minibattles, Popping Balloons, and Throwing Balloons. In Popping Balloons, a Yoshi must pound the balloon with the item inside of it. However, the Bandit will try to find it first. In Throwing Balloons, a Yoshi is throwing a slowly expanding balloon back and forth with a Bandit. Whoever has the balloon when it pops loses the minigame.
