The Abilities are the Special Talents or Strong Points that all Mario Characters Have.

The Special Talents are property of Mario Superstar Baseball and here are some:
- Wall Jump (Mario, Luigi, Baby Mario, Baby Luigi, Toadette and Bowser Jr.Have this Special Talent.): This ability is similar to the Wall Kick. The Character will execute this move when the baseball is traveling over the fence. He or she will jump prior to the wall and launch him/her self off and attempt to catch the ball.
- Sliding Catch (Mario, Daisy, Shy Guy, Koopa Troopa, Dry Bones, Toadette, Noki and Wario): While most charactors can dive for a ball, Sliding catch is an upgrade to that. Players with this ability can dive for baseballs that are further away and catch the ball with higher success.
- Super Catch (Peach, Toadsworth and Diddy Kong): This talent enables certain characters to catch the baseball with a higher succession rate (catching balls that would normaly be too high or out of reach)and no chance for error.
- Quick Throw (Peach and Daisy): Players with Quick Throw can release the baseball to another player almost immediatly after recieving it.
- Laser Beam (Bowser, Donkey Kong,Pianta and Waluigi): This Special Talent allows the fielder to throw the baseball at an incredible speed to home plate (only when there is a runner on third base running home).
- Body Check (Bowser, Hammer Bro., Petey Piranha, Bowser Jr., Wario, Birdo and Toad): Body Check is used when there is a play at a base where the runner is headed (and would likly be tagged out). The base runner will plow into the fielder (granted that he/she is running fast enough)and try to make the fielder lose the baseball. However, this attempt can fail and the fielder will be unharmed while the batter is tagged out.
- Super Jump (Luigi, Waluigi, King Boo, Boo, Paratroopa and Paragoomba): As the name states, this move allows the fielder to jump to amazing heights (an upgrade to a typical jump other players can proform). It is useful when trying to catch a ball that would normally go over the fielder's head.
- Clamber(Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, Dixie Kong and Yoshi): When proformed, the character will climb the outfield wall to try and catch the ball. (Note: this ability will not prevent a homerun goin over the wall)
- Ball Dash (Monty Mole and Goomba): When one of these two is holding the ball, the fielder is granted an increased speed (useful for chasing down a runner).

- Magical Catch (only for Magikoopa): Magikoopa use his barite to attract the ball.

The Strong Point is the area in which a character is highlighted. The Strong Point are property of some Mario's Sport Games.
- Mario Kart Double Dash: Use Stars to the Karts (***)
- Mario Superstar Baseball: Use Names (Pitching, Batting, etc..) for example

The Type is a grading which is found in all Mario's Sport games.
- Mario Superstar Baseball: Balance, Tecnique, Speed and Power.
- Super Mario Strikers: Balance, Offensive, Aggressive and Playmarker.
- Mario Kart Double Dash: Heavy, Medium and Slight.
- Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games: Balance, Speed, Skill and Power.
