Lakitu R is a more powerful variation of the Lakitu in Mario & Luigi: Dream Team. Lakitus R are found only in Dreamy Neo Bowser Castle. In the field, a Lakitu R can either swoop down at Mario or throw a Spiny Egg containing a Spiny R. In battle, Lakitus R appear alongside Spinies R. However, Lakitus R stay in the background, so Mario cannot attack them directly. Lakitus R attack by throwing Mushrooms and Spiny Eggs. If they hold a Mushroom/Spiny Egg in their left hand, they throw the object underhand, where it will slide/roll into Mario. If the object is held in the Lakitu R's right hand, it will be thrown overhand and land on Mario's head. Spiny Eggs may inflict DEF-Down. In either case, a Hammer attack knocks the Spiny Egg back at the Lakitu R, inflicting damage. After this attack, more Spinies R will join the battle. (Spinies R may not appear if there are already too many Spinies R.)

Lakitus R attack immediately if hit with a Taunt Ball.
