Nintendo Collector Cards (referred to as Game Boy Collector Cards on cereal boxes containing the cards[1]) is a series of collectible trading cards released in the United Kingdom in 1993.[2] The cards were available in boxes of Frosties cereal, and featured artwork of various games released for the Game Boy. Select cards also featured artwork of Tony the Tiger alongside a character or element from one of the games featured (frequently Mario). Two cards The back of each card featured a description of the game it was themed after, in addition to a trivia question asked by Tony about the game, to which the answer is listed upside-down on the bottom of the card. The back of the "Tony & Mario" and the "Tony in Nintendo Land" cards instead featured a description of both Tony and either Mario or the game being promoted, as well as a trivia question asked by Tony about himself. The cards were released as part of a contest; if the owner received a "Gr-r-reat Nintendo Winning Card", they were to scratch off a small circular portion on the back of the card. If they got one of the four symbols indicating Nintendo merchandise, they won that piece of merchandise. If they got an "X", they did not win anything.
