- —In-game description
Shelltop Sanctuary is a golf course added in version 4.0.0 of Mario Golf: Super Rush. It takes place on top of a grassy plateau above the clouds with numerous shell-shaped structures and statues of the Koopa Troopa masters from Golf Adventure found throughout. In the center of the course is a pond inhabited by Cheep Cheeps and Cheep Chomps, the former of which periodically jump over the bridges, serving as obstacles for the players during Speed Golf. Certain areas of the course have fans which blow away balls that get caught in their wind stream. Like New Donk City, Shelltop Sanctuary is an all par 3 course with two available layouts. Unlike New Donk City, the locations of the tee boxes and greens are the same for both layouts, with the difference between the two being which greens are traveled to from which tee box. The tee boxes are colored blue in the Amateur layout and yellow in the Pro layout. This along with All-Star Summit are the only two courses to have Star Coins, which completely fill the Special Shot gauge when collected.
There is also a third layout, Special, which is exclusive to the One On, One Putt challenge. It is unlocked by clearing the Pro layout's challenge. For this layout, the player is only given one or two preselected clubs and a putter for each hole, including custom clubs otherwise only usable in Golf Adventure that dramatically alter the ball's trajectory, though Special Shots can be used to negate these effects. The tee boxes are red.
Holes[edit]
The yardages listed for each layout may differ due to variable pin locations.
Amateur[edit]
Hole | Image | Distance | Description |
---|---|---|---|
1 | 56 yards | The green is on top of a small hill with two bunkers on the left near statues of Master Stinger and Master Duff. | |
2 | 57 yards | The green is next to some large rocks, one of which has a Star Coin hovering over it. There is a bunker near the green's upper right edge. | |
3 | 57 yards | This hole starts near the rock with the Star Coin above it from the previous hole. There is a large sand pit to the right of the green. | |
4 | 43 yards | The green has tall, curved rocks arched over its sides and a tree in front of it whose leaves hover over part of the green. | |
5 | 41 yards | The green is on top of a sloped ledge with a single bunker on the left. The ledge is too steep to climb, so players must walk around it to reach the green during Speed Golf. | |
6 | 57 yards | A large, sloped bunker borders the green's entire right edge. | |
7 | 47 yards | The green is on top of a mound surrounded by bunkers. | |
8 | 50 yards | The green is on a sloped peninsula that juts into the pond. There is a bunker next to the green's upper right edge. | |
9 | 62 yards | The tee box is on a small island in the pond, and players must cross a short bridge to reach the green. The green has fans blowing over it. | |
10 | 57 yards | The green is near the edge of the pond, on top of a small hill. The green dips down near the upper edge. | |
11 | 45 yards | Several bunkers surround the green, including one on the lower middle edge that the green curves around. | |
12 | 60 yards | This hole reuses the green from the seventh hole, but approaches it from the opposite side. The tee box is at a higher elevation than Hole 7's. | |
13 | 59 yards | The green is near the pond. There is a tree and a bunker next to it, with the tree's leaves hovering over the green slightly. | |
14 | 65 yards | The green is bordered by sand on the upper end and water on the right. There is a Star Coin hovering by a curving tree growing out of the side of a tall rock nearby. | |
15 | 60 yards | The tee box is in a circular patch of grass in the middle of a large sand pit. There is water to the right of the green. | |
16 | 54 yards | The green is on top of a steep hill. There are three sloped bunkers next to the green. | |
17 | 58 yards | The green is on a small island on the other side of a bridge with Cheep Cheeps jumping over it. There is a small bunker on the right side of the green and a larger one on the left. | |
18 | 44 yards | The green is on top of a hill that overlooks the cliff's edge. There is a pit between the tee box and the green. |
Pro[edit]
Hole | Image | Distance | Description |
---|---|---|---|
1 | 129 yards | Players must hit the ball past a tall rock with a statue of Master Duff embedded in it to reach the green. The green has a deep bunker to the right of it. | |
2 | 65 yards | A tree somewhat obstructs the path to the green here. Ahead of the green is a sand pit. | |
3 | 114 yards | Curved rocks and a tree surround the green, potentially obstructing tee shots. | |
4 | 99 yards | The green is on top of a hill near the pond's edge and has three bunkers to the left of it. There is a fan blowing air on the way to the green. | |
5 | 139 yards | Players must hit the ball over a large sand pit and some trees to reach the green. There is a path made of rocks in the sand which players can use in Speed Golf to reach the green without being slowed down by the sand. | |
6 | 88 yards | There is sand and water near the green. On the left is a Star Coin hovering over the trunk of a tree growing out of the side of a tall rock. | |
7 | 99 yards | The green is near the pond, with a tree on the left and a bunker on the right. The tree's leaves hang above a small part of the green. | |
8 | 115 yards | The green is on top of a ledge near the water, with a winding road of fairway leading up to it. | |
9 | 154 yards | The green is on top of a small hill near two bunkers, overlooked by statues of Master Stinger and Master Duff. The tee box is on a small island in the pond. | |
10 | 109 yards | The green has many large bunkers on its left side, with a smaller one on the right that the green curves around. | |
11 | 126 yards | The players must hit the ball over a waste pit with some Bramballs in it to reach the green, which is on top of a mound surrounded by bunkers. There is a tree with a Star Coin above it near the Bramball pit. | |
12 | 125 yards | This hole has the players hitting the ball over the same Bramball pit as the previous hole, but in the opposite direction. The green is near the pond with a bunker on the right. | |
13 | 99 yards | The green is on top of a hill and has a large bunker bordering its top and left edges. There is also a smaller bunker to the right of the green. | |
14 | 88 yards | The green is near a sand pit, past some slopes and a large rock. | |
15 | 89 yards | This hole reuses the green from the third hole, but approaches it from the opposite side. The players hit the ball over a sand pit and can use a path of rocks to cross it quickly in Speed Golf. | |
16 | 90 yards | The green is on a small island in the pond, with a small bunker on the bottom edge and a large one on the top edge. There are three bridges with Cheep Cheeps jumping over them on the way to the green. | |
17 | 93 yards | The green is on top of a hill that juts out from the cliff's edge. | |
18 | 74 yards | Fans blow over the green, potentially knocking tee shots off course. |
Special[edit]
Hole | Image | Distance | Description |
---|---|---|---|
1 | 152 yards | The player is given a driver and must hit the ball past the Master Stinger and Master Duff statues and reach the green, accounting for the driver's low loft and subsequent long roll. | |
2 | 127 yards | The player must use the fast fairway to roll the ball on to the green, since the approach wedge the player is given does not hit the ball hard enough to reach the green otherwise. | |
3 | 131 yards | The player is given a Boomerang Fade 9 Iron, which dramatically curves the ball's trajectory depending on the player's dominant hand. If playing right handed, the player can use this to obtain a Star Coin while still landing on the green. | |
4 | 105 yards | The player is given a 6 iron. The green is on top of a hill. Depending on the pin position, the nearby rocks may obstruct the player's path to the hole. | |
5 | 190 yards | Using a Dry Bones Shell 3 Wood, the player must skip the ball across the sand and reach the green. | |
6 | 115 yards | The player is given a Boomerang Draw 9 Iron, which dramatically curves the ball's trajectory depending on the player's dominant hand. The objective is to curve the ball around the statue of Master Lob and land on the green. | |
7 | 152 yards | Using a Red Shell 3 Wood, the player must skip the ball across the waste underneath the Bramballs. This requires hitting the ball with less power than what would otherwise be used to reach the green here. | |
8 | 199 yards | Using a Green Shell 3 Wood, the player must skip the ball across the water to the green. The player must ensure that the Cheep Chomps are not in the ball's path upon swinging, or they will eat the ball. | |
9 | 57 yards | The player is given a sand wedge and must hit the ball over several trees to land on the green, which can be done by increasing the shot's loft. | |
10 | 81 yards | The player is given an approach wedge and must avoid the fans near the green. | |
11 | 72 yards | The player is given a pitching wedge and must hit the ball over a large rock. | |
12 | 155 yards | The player is given a Banana Fade 5 Hybrid, which dramatically curves the ball's trajectory depending on the player's dominant hand. If playing right handed, the player can use this to obtain a Star Coin while still landing on the green. This hole shares its green with Hole 6. | |
13 | 86 yards | The player is given a 7 iron and must hit the ball over a Bramball to reach a green on top of a hill. | |
14 | 184 yards | Using a Green Shell 3 Wood, the player must skip the ball across the water while avoiding the Cheep Cheeps and Cheep Chomps. | |
15 | 155 yards | The player is given a Banana Draw 5 Hybrid, which dramatically curves the ball's trajectory depending on the player's dominant hand. If playing right handed, the player can use this to obtain a Star Coin while still landing on the green. | |
16 | 116 yards | The player is given an 8 iron and must reach a green surrounded by rocks and a tree. | |
17 | 213 yards | Using a Green Shell 3 Wood, the player must skip the ball across the water while avoiding the Cheep Cheeps, Cheep Chomps, and bridges. | |
18 | 135 yards | The player is given a Boomerang Draw 9 Iron and a Boomerang Fade 9 Iron. Using one of these clubs, the player must curve the ball around a shell-shaped structure and reach the green. |
