User talk:Paradox
Here you can talk to me. Say anything you want. But there are some simple rules. Please do not vandalize or troll this page (you might even get banned). I'm fine with swearing, but if it makes others uncomfortable, don't do it.
Warning[edit]
| This is a warning to stop your inappropriate behavior (edit warring) on the Super Mario Wiki. Please adhere to the rules or you will be blocked from editing this site. If you feel this warning was undeserved, you may appeal it. |
Please stop re-adding edits that were previously reverted without providing any explanation. The part of the fish is the dorsal fin, not the "hair", and the Ground (block) is for the placeable element in level editors, not all ground in general. If you have any disagreements, make a post on the talk page first.

I’m very sorry! I joined the Super Mario Wiki on Saturday, so I’m really new to how the wiki works. I changed it because I thought that it looked somewhat incorrect. And I thought that you were talking about the ground in general, not the Super Mario Maker ground blocks. Thanks for telling me this, and I’ll remember to follow the rules in the future.

RE: Rail Block[edit]
You're okay, and you don't need to ask permission; as I said, you just needed more information (and with what you plan to add, that should be enough) and to follow the Manual of Style. You can also always look at other similar articles as examples.
Mario JC 15:30, April 11, 2026 (UTC)
Ok, thank you, but do you want to work together? Or are you working on something else currently. Paradox (talk) 15:36, April 11, 2026 (UTC)
Previewing edits[edit]
| Hello, Paradox. When editing, if you'd like to see how your edits affect a page, use the "Show preview" button next to the "Save changes" button. This allows you to check over your edits for any errors and make any additional changes or fixes before you save, which will prevent edits from flooding the page history and recent changes. (If you are on mobile, make sure to check the preview page thoroughly before proceeding to save.) Please try to avoid making excessive, consecutive edits to a single page within a short timespan and instead limit them to as few as possible. |
As I said above, look at other articles as examples and copy any code that you need (like infoboxes) while replacing the parts related to that article with parts related to yours (the base, blank template code is found on {{item infobox}}).
Mario JC 16:48, April 11, 2026 (UTC)
Thank you! I didn’t know what the Show Preview button did, so whenever I wanted to look at my article, I would always just click the “Save changes” button. Thank you!
Personal files above limit[edit]
You currently have too many personal files. Users are limited to a maximum of five personal files, which can be used on your user page and/or for a signature on talk pages (see the personal file policy for details). Please select the personal files you would like to keep and mark all others for deletion using the {{delete}} template. If you have not relinquished your extra files within one week of receiving this notice, five files will be selected for retention at random, and the rest will be deleted. If you continue uploading more files and exceeding the limit, then a warning will be issued. |

Subject names[edit]
Thank you for creating the Rail Block and Throwable Ice Block articles! @Nintendo101 provides a helpful list of subjects without articles, which you may find useful should you choose to continue writing new articles. The list provides names of subjects in the Super Mario series, including the official name "ice block" for the subject of the latter article you created under a conjectural name. You can also copy the citations given in the list, as was done on the Rail Block article. B700465189a9 (talk) 01:47, April 16, 2026 (UTC)
Re: Cracked block[edit]
Hello! I want to thank you for creating the Cracked block article. However, there were a lot of issues with it that I have now corrected. I will relay these to you, so you can avoid them in the future:
- Second person writing (referring to the player or player character as "you") is not allowed in this wiki. See MarioWiki:Manual of Style § No "you"s for more info.
- The Manual of Style also details that contractions such as "it's" are to be avoided. See MarioWiki:Manual of Style § Contractions for more info.
- There are several cracked blocks, but the article referred to them in the singular. The name "cracked block" is also a generic lowercase term, but it was written with a capital C in the middle of sentences.
- The article completely neglected to mention their appearance in New Super Luigi U.
- It also did not mention that Bob-omb explosions also damage the blocks.
- Finally, the article was missing a period after the title of New Super Mario Bros. U.

- Thank you for telling me this! I was really tired when I made this article, so a forgot to change “you” to “the player”. I also thought contractions like “it’s” were encouraged, not to be avoided. The reason why I spelled it like “Cracked block” is because the title was called “Cracked block” (you can move it to “Cracked Block” if you want). I also thought it was obvious that it was in New Super Luigi U, and since it functioned exactly the same, I felt like I didn’t need to add it (Especially since the Manual of Style says to avoid obvious information. But thanks for fixing that article. I’ll try to remember in the future.

Re: Magical platform[edit]
Once again, while I appreciate your creation of these pages, please make sure you stick to the Manual of Style. In particular, I recommend you read the "Verb tense" section.. I'll give you some time to fix it up before doing it myself. — eviemaybe
(talk) 21:25, April 19, 2026 (UTC)
- I did see an IP account change all my “is” words in the article to “was”. I did see someone fix that though, so I didn’t care, I’ll go change them. Paradox (talk) 21:30, April 19, 2026 (UTC)
- Oh, that was an IP? My sincerest apologies then. I was doing my sweep through the "New pages" tab, and saw that you had made the page. I'm sorry for assuming. — eviemaybe
(talk) 22:39, April 19, 2026 (UTC)
- You’re good, I just made a new article called Limited Lift (Remote-Control), if you find any problems with this article, you can tell me. (Also, how do you make references? I feel bad for not putting them in) Paradox (talk) 22:46, April 19, 2026 (UTC)

(resetting the indenting for easier writing)
There are quite a few issues with this new article:
- The list of names misspells "Remote" as "Remove". If that typo is present in the source material, it should be marked using {{sic}}.
- It also misspells Mario's name as "Mairo".
- Once again, the Manual of Style says no contractions. No "won't"s, no "the player's" to substitute for "the player is", none of those.
- The Manual of Style also says to specifically use straight apostrophes (
'), while you are using non-straight ones (’). - Why are you ending sentences, then starting a new one with an "And" continuing on the same topic? That's what commas are for.
- Style aside, the actual writeup is very poorly phrased, and does not convey how the platform works to someone who does not already know it.
The quality of your writing and your ability to follow writing standards is your responsibility, not the administrators'. I frankly should not have to be pointing out these basic mistakes to you. It is okay to make mistakes, but one thing is making mistakes, and another is refusing to learn and incorporate feedback. — eviemaybe
(talk) 18:30, April 20, 2026 (UTC)
- I’m very sorry about this. And you’re right, I should look at my own mistakes more deeply. I just said if you wanted to look at my new article because you’ve often been pointing out my mistakes, not as a way to count on only you or just the administrators, and not as a way of being ignorant to the rules and expecting everyone else to do the work for me. When I make a new article, I’ll make sure to try to follow the Manual of Style as this is not excusable. Although I am still learning, this definitely isn’t up to the Super Mario Wiki’s standards. All that aside, thank you for telling me this. And if a reminder or even a warning must be issued. I am okay with that.
Paradox (talk) 20:34, April 20, 2026 (UTC)
- (Update) Although some of those edits I probably did, some of those I didn't. For example, I did not create the list of names, so someone else changed it to "Remove-Control Limited Lift". I know you are just trying to tell me the issues, but please make sure to see if I actually made that edit or not, as this is not the first time you assumed that I did an edit. Besides that, I am deeply sorry about the edits I did do.
