{{aboutfile}}[edit]

Hello, PrincessDaisyForever. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly use the {{aboutfile}} template. What you were doing looks like this, and it is an inconvenience for other users to fix up the template. It is simple to learn how to format it correctly. The pre-loaded coding is shown below.

{{aboutfile
|1=Subject of the image
|2=Where you found the image
|3=Artist
|4=Describe edits, if any
|5=Other versions (use file link)
}}

Just replace the necessary parts with that corresponding information, and remove the entire line of the variable(s) you don't use. If you do not wish to use the template at all, then it is acceptable to simply remove it before you upload the file. Please consider the above information before uploading more files. If you continue using {{aboutfile}} incorrectly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing.

I think you are allowed to not use the template at all if you do so choose. I have done that when {{aboutfile}} isn't really necessary. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 20:22, 30 January 2016 (EST)

Thanks for the advice. --PrincessDaisyForever 22:30 February 2016 (EST)

Reminder[edit]

Please stop formatting your uploads incorrectly on the Super Mario Wiki. This isn't a warning, and it's possible that you made a mistake by accident or without realizing it; this is simply a reminder for your information. If the action continues, then a warning will be issued. Thanks for reading and keep contributing.
If you feel this reminder was undeserved, you may appeal it.

Hey there. Thanks for your recent Daisy uploads. But please remember to use the {{Aboutfile}} template. For example:

{{Aboutfile
|1=Screenshot of [[Princess Daisy]] in [[Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games (Wii U)]]
}}

Secondly, we categorize images by game. For example, [[Category:Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games Images]]. This can be added after the aboutfile template.

Thirdly, please remember to select a correct license from the drop-down menu on the upload page. For example if the image is a screenshot from a game, please select "Video game screenshot". Thank you, and keep contributing.

Thanks for the advice, I will use it next time. User:PrincessDaisyForever - 18:12, 1 July 2016 (EST)

Warning[edit]

Warning.svg
This is a warning to stop your inappropriate behavior (three reasons listed below) on the Super Mario Wiki. Please adhere to the rules or you will be blocked from editing this site.
If you feel this warning was undeserved, you may appeal it.

This is a warning covering three things at once because it was suggested to you to follow these guidelines and you somewhat failed to do so:

  1. Forgetting to fill out {{aboutfile}}, but you did remember for the rest of your recent uploads. Remember you can opt out of filling it out just by erasing the whole text box field.
  2. Not categorizing the files. Click on your uploaded images to see the changes I made to them by clicking history.
  3. Not naming the files correctly, as this goes against policy. I have moved the files to have a more appropriate name. File:CkYeAt7Fz.jpg also was another problem that was fixed.

Just work harder to make following policy a habit for uploading and no more warnings will be issued. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 15:44, 24 August 2016 (EDT)

Image Category Reminder[edit]

Hello, PrincessDaisyForever. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly categorize the file. It's simple to learn how to do so. Just search for the correct category by starting with the following groups:

Images Audio/video files

When uploading, copy the full title of the category and insert it in square brackets into the summary text box below the {{aboutfile}} template, replacing the {{uncategorized}} template entirely. If you're using the upload function from the text editor, simply add the category link to the description. For example, files related to the game Super Mario World would use:

[[Category:Super Mario World images]]
or
[[Category:Super Mario World media files]]

Please consider the above information before uploading more files. Keep in mind that some files can belong to multiple categories. Do not put images into the media files category, or vice versa. If you continue uploading files without categorizing them correctly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing.

File:SML Daisy Old.png was missing Category:Super Mario Land Images. You were reminded once before but without a good explanation. So next time if you fail to categorize the image, {{lastwarn}} will be issued. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 16:03, 20 September 2016 (EDT)

Can you clarify where the source of this image is from. Alien Bunny Sprite.pngL151Onnanoko

It's a Mario size chart which was released as a background for the Nintendo 3DS I have another image for prove it: Mario-Characters-Free-3DS-Theme-Download-Code.png

However this is only a piece of it, not sure if a full image exists outside this one.

Okay.

YourWaifuSucks[edit]

Well, there's a title I didn't think I would have to write. Someone with the user name YourWaifuSucks (talk) signed up and they share the same IP address as you. Do you know who this is? Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 13:29, 18 July 2018 (EDT)

I'm sorry about that, I was going to log in with my regular account but I got distracted for a second and my brother tried to make a troll account, when I checked out it was too late. Is there a possibility to block it? -- PrincessDaisyForever

Yeah, I can do that. Thanks for letting me know. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 13:46, 18 July 2018 (EDT)

Image names[edit]

Hello. When uploading, files should use the extension .jpg instead of .jpeg, and this can be directly changed in the file name page without the need to convert or anything like that. This is so that all files remain shorter and consistent amongst themselves. Thank you. Trig - 14:10, January 22, 2020 (EST)

Also, keep in mind that file names should be clear and accurate, not a random string of letters like "File:EpEMP0yXIAEeb0M.jpg". Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 00:29, December 13, 2020 (EST)

Sorry[edit]

I was upload two images but I don't know you was upload them at that time. By the way, can you add images to at least one page? Pi'illoper.pngBlhte(A****** c*****) 23:39, January 22, 2020 (EST)

License[edit]

Hi. Please remember to select the appropriate license (whether it's character artwork etc.) for future uploads. It's the drop-down menu labelled "Licensing" when you upload. Thanks. Mario (Gold) costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 20:29, February 28, 2020 (EST)

Italics[edit]

Hello, PrincessDaisyForever! Thanks for your contributions. When writing titles for media like games, films, TV shows, and publications, please remember to italicize them. This is done by placing two straight apostrophes (not quotation marks or curly apostrophes) on both sides of the title, or clicking on the I icon above the text box and typing out the title. For example, typing out ''[[Super Mario Bros.]]'' generates Super Mario Bros.
