This article is about the object found in several kingdoms in Super Mario Odyssey that allows Mario to perform aerial Spin Jumps. For the similarly named object found only in the Cascade Kingdom in the same game that acts only as a trampoline, see Hat trampoline (Cascade Kingdom).

Effect Launches Mario high into the air

Hat Trampolines[1] are objects that appear in Super Mario Odyssey. They are red flowers that are usually closed; however, when Cappy, a Bullet Bill, or a thrown seed collides with one, or when Mario ground-pounds on one, it temporarily opens. When Mario touches it in this state, it launches him into the air, making him perform an airborne Spin Jump, similarly to how he performs a Spin Jump after jumping on a Spindrift in Super Mario 64 and Super Mario 64 DS. The Hat Trampoline closes back up after a short time. Some Hat Trampolines, primarily those seen in bonus areas, are permanently open at all times. Additionally, the underside of Rango's hat functions identically to a Hat Trampoline and has a similar design.
