Mario Party 6

Granite Getaway is a 4-Player minigame in Mario Party 6 and Super Mario Party Jamboree. This minigame is likely based on the iconic Raiders of the Lost Ark scene in which Indiana Jones is chased by a giant boulder.

Introduction

Everyone is looking around wildly, then a giant boulder drops from the ceiling, and the game starts.

Gameplay

The game takes place in a brown cave. The players must run away from the giant rolling boulder behind them. The players have to hold down Control Stick the whole time, or they are squished by the boulder. Players have to jump to avoid the many obstacles that appear onscreen. After a while, a spot with a wooden floor is reached (the boulder falls through it in Mario Party 6); players who survive up until this point win. If the boulder squashes everyone, the game will end in a tie.

Ending

Players who get to the end of the cave do their victory animations. In Super Mario Party Jamboree, the losers perform their defeat animations behind the winner.

Controls

Mario Party 6
