Flutter Wings are a power-up in Yoshi's New Island. The power-up is gained like the Invincibility Leaf from Super Mario 3D Land, meaning that it appears only after a Yoshi loses three lives in a level. Mr. Pipe gives a Yoshi this power-up, and it turns the latter character into Winged Yoshi. The power-up allows the Yoshi to hover without losing height, replacing the Flutter Jump. There is a variation of Flutter Wings called Golden Flutter Wings, which act more like an Invincibility Leaf and are given only when a Yoshi loses another life with the Flutter Wings.
