Big Bone Piranha Plants are the giant versions of Bone Piranha Plants, as well as the undead versions of Big Piranha Plants. They debuted in New Super Mario Bros. 2 alongside their smaller counterparts.
History[edit]
New Super Mario Bros. 2[edit]
Like all the other undead enemies from New Super Mario Bros. 2, they are similar to their living versions, with the same strengths and weaknesses. Similarly to many of the other enemies in this game, Mario and Luigi can defeat this enemy with a single gold or silver fireball and receive coins. Additionally, they can be destroyed either with a tail whip or by touching them while invincible, but like normal Bone Piranha Plants, they cannot be harmed with regular fireballs. They appear in World Mushroom-Castle, World 4-Tower, and World 5-Castle.
Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition[edit]
Big Bone Piranha Plants appear as enemies in Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition, where their attributes are Wood and Dark. They are weak against any opponent that is attributed with Fire, but can resist Water-attributed enemies. The large skeletal plants have high Attack and HP, but very poor recovery. Their skill is "Poison Smog", which turns all orbs on the Orb field to Wood and Dark orbs, and can be used every 19 turns.
When fought as enemies, Big Bone Piranha Plants always fight alone, due to their huge size. They attack every three turns, and can even poison the player's team. The Big Bone Piranha Plant's poison is much more damaging than that of the Bone Piranha Plant, especially in the later worlds.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[edit]
In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Big Bone Piranha Plants (just called Big Bone Piranhas) are mentioned briefly by Viridi during Palutena's Guidance dialogue for Piranha Plant.
