Deck Hands is a luck-based Battle minigame in Mario Party 7 and a Free-for-All minigame in Mario Party: The Top 100. The name comes from the "all hands on deck" boatswain's call. This is the only minigame that uses the music track "Without a Care" (excluding the Mic Space minigame).

Introduction[edit]

The cards all fall from above and land in a pile in front of a Shy Guy. Sections of the floor then open, and platforms with the players on them rise. The camera then switches to the view of the Shy Guy, who then looks at the first player.

Gameplay[edit]

In this minigame, players take turns choosing cards numbered one through thirteen from the table. The cards are facedown, making this a game of chance. Each player gets three turns to choose a card. In the first round, the order of play is random, but in the succeeding rounds, it goes by who got the lower-numbered cards. There is only one of each card numbered one to thirteen in the deck. The highest possible score is 36, and the lowest possible score is six. The player(s) with the highest total value of their cards win(s).

Ending[edit]

The one card remaining after the players have chosen the others returns to the center of the table, and the camera switches views to show all the players and the Shy Guy. In Mario Party 7, winners then do their victory animations while losers do their losing animations, with the Shy Guy also doing a little win animation.
