Template:Level Downtown of Crag is the first area encountered in the Land of the Cragnons (therefore making it Chapter 5-1) in Super Paper Mario. It is the home of the Cragnons. The town lies in the shadow of Mount Crag.
Despite its primitive appearance, Downtown of Crag has stereo systems, Cragvision sets, and other modern electronic devices, though all are made from rocks.
Downtown of Crag has many items that are either normally hard to find or are unobtainable anywhere else. There is an Itty Bits store in the village; it is the only place where Mario can obtain Mild Cocoa Beans, a common recipe ingredient. He can also buy Keel Mangos from the store. The Howzit's Shop in the village sells Primordial Fruit. With the exception of one of the Chapters in Castle Bleck, Bone Meat Cuts are exclusive to the chapter, as it is the only place where Mario can find Muths.
Chapter 5-1: Downtown of Crag
The first time Mario enters Downtown of Crag, he finds himself suspended in mid-air; the Cyan Door opens directly into the air. After a humorous little remark from Tippi, they fall to the ground.
It just so happens that, when Mario appears, two Cragnons are pleading to the Big Rock Who Watches to save their race, directly below Mario. Believing Mario to have been sent by the Rock, they welcome him and brief him on what is happening: the Floro Sapiens are capturing Cragnons. As if on cue, some Cragnons get caputred just as Mario learns about the problem, and the chase begins.
Mario's chasing of the Floro Sapiens will lead him through a rocky, barren area infested with Putrid Piranhas, Muths, and Moon Clefts. In the end, after he has solved some Cragnon puzzles, Mario and his party will reach the Gap of Crag.
