Effect Lets Mario perform a regular jump attack that has a chance to shrink an enemy for a few turns, halving their attack.
Description(s)
Lets you do a Shrink Stomp. Uses 2 FP. If it works, the enemy Mario stomps on shrinks. It also decreases the enemy's Attack Power by half, for a few turns. (Paper Mario)
Wear this to use Shrink Stomp. 2 FP are required to use this attack, which can shrink enemies and drop their Attack Power if executed superbly. Wearing two or more of these badges requires more FP for the move, but enemies stay shrunk for longer. (Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Nintendo GameCube)
Wear this to use Shrink Stomp. 2 FP are required to use this attack, which may temporarily shrink an enemy and drop their Attack power. However, it can't make their Attack power drop below 0! Wearing two or more of these badges causes the enemy to stay shrunk for longer, but the move will require more FP. (Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Nintendo Switch)

Shrink Stomp is a badge in Paper Mario and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. In Paper Mario, it is in the Toad Town Tunnels inside a treasure chest and guarded by a Blooper. In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, it is found in The Great Tree, in the room with water that needs to be drained out, can be bought from the Lovely Howz of Badges for seventy-five coins, and is rarely dropped after battle by Buzzy Beetles, Spike Tops, and X-Nauts. If Mario equips this badge, he gains the ability to use the Shrink Stomp move, which is a jump attack, for two FP. If the Action Command is timed correctly, upon landing the attack, Mario's target is shrunk, physically reducing their size and decreasing the damage of their attacks by half, for two turns. In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, equipping additional copies of the badge increases the amount of FP needed to use the move, but also increases the amount of turns the enemy stays shrunk by two per badge.

Merluvlee's prediction in Paper Mario

  • "I see...a Shrink Stomp Badge. You descend into the Private pipe in Toad Town, then head right on the underground path. You break a block and continue. You find a treasure chest containing the Badge. But beware! For I see a nasty enemy protecting the chest. You must defeat this dreaded creature to reach the Badge."
