Pronto is a native Mushroom that appears in The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! episode "The Provolone Ranger / Goodbye Mr. Fish". Like his name says, he can run fast.
He helped Mario save Luigi, Toad and Princess Toadstool from Billy the Koopa.
