Appears in Mario Kart Wii

The Spear (known as Torpedo in the British English version) is a large-sized inside drifting bike in Mario Kart Wii. It resembles a Moto Guzzi V8 with stripes and exhaust pipes sticking out the sides. The character's emblem is located on the front and sides of the bike. The Spear is one of seven vehicles in Mario Kart Wii to go through a design change other than a color swap; the others being the Booster Seat, Bit Bike, Flame Runner, Wario Bike, Shooting Star, and Phantom. In this case, Bowser's and Dry Bowser's Spears have their exhaust pipes positioned lower than the others, and Rosalina's and the female Mii's Spear feature shorter handlebars.

The Spear can be unlocked by unlocking twelve Expert Staff Ghosts in Time Trials or by playing 3,600 races.

StatsEdit

Speed: 67/80
Weight: 56/80
Acceleration: 24/80
Handling: 18/80
Drift: 29/80
Off-Road: 18/80
Mini-Turbo: 18/80
Vehicle type:
Hang-on

The Spear is the fastest bike in the game, and it also has high weight (which is tied with the Jetsetter), but is actually the second-heaviest bike in the game, after the Wario Bike. However, all its other stats are quite low. It shares the same drift stat as the Zip Zip and the Tiny Titan, but suffers from the worst handling, off-road, and Mini-Turbo among all bikes and its off-road is equivalent to the Flame Flyer's off-road. As such, the Spear has the lowest stat total out of any bike in the game, only having 230 stat points.

The Spear is the second-fastest vehicle in the game, only behind the Jetsetter. It is also the heaviest inside-drifting bike in the game, allowing it to easily push around lighter vehicles and giving it the lowest jump angle out of any inside-drifting bike in the game. Inversely, it has the second-worst acceleration among all bikes, only being better than that of the Flame Runner's, and it has the second worst handling, off-road, and mini-turbo in the game, only being better than those of the Jetsetter. While the visual graph shows the Spear with the same acceleration stat as the Mach Bike, its internal data shows it actually accelerates more slowly. It also has the second worst drifting of the inward drifting bikes, only having better drift than the Dolphin Dasher.

The Spear shares similar stat distribution to the Jetsetter and, relative to their weight classes, Jet Bubble and Sneakster.

Funky Kong's Spear is the fastest vehicle in the game while performing a wheelie. Also, if Waluigi rides the Spear, its drift will exceed that of the Magikruiser by two points, and its acceleration will exceed that of the Mini Beast, Piranha Prowler, Shooting Star, and Sneakster by one point.
