Template:Level Merlee's Basement is the setting of Chapter 2-4 in Super Paper Mario, and as such is the grand finale of Chapter 2.

Chapter 2-4: The Basement Face-Off

As Mario and co. descend into Merlee's basement, Merlee contacts them. The magical projection of her tells them that she is hidden in the basement and warns them of potential danger. As Mario advances through the mansion, he meets Mimi disguised as Merlee wanting to bribe him so he has to work of 1,000,000 Rubees again. Mario refuses every offer, and Mimi turns into her true form and starts chasing him across the mansion. Mario eventually finds Merlee hidden in a toilet, but Mimi appears and shape shifts into the charmer. Mario plays a game show to pick out the fake Merlee but Mimi gets furious and attacks him. A battle ensues, where Mario defeats Mimi and Merlee gladly gives him the Pure Heart.
