Giant Luigi is a form in Mario & Luigi: Dream Team that Dreamy Luigi takes in the Dream World. When Dreamy Luigi is in a state of peril, the sleeping Luigi in the real world clutches his cap in fear. The L on Luigi's cap starts to glow. When Starlow presses down on the L, Luiginoids are summoned to join with Dreamy Luigi, causing him to grow into a giant state. With this power, Dreamy Luigi can fight the boss threatening him. After the battle, the Luiginoids disperse and Dreamy Luigi returns to normal size. When the Bros. face Bowser in Dreamy Neo Bowser Castle, Luigi smirks and pulls his cap lower instead.
When using Giant Luigi, the 3DS is held sideways. Either a clockwise or counterclockwise turn is done, depending on the player's dominant hand settings. Giant Luigi is controlled mostly through use of the and the Touch Screen, with both swipes and taps used. He fights similarly to regular Luigi, having access to a jump attack and two hammer attacks. The increased size allows Luigi to use more physical maneuvers when countering attacks. Some enemy attacks call for tilting the system in order to avoid or counteract them.
Mario rides on Giant Luigi's cap. Together, Mario and Luigi can perform Bros. Attacks. Mario tires out after using a Bros. Attack, so they cannot be used multiple times in succession. Some enemy attacks can knock Mario away, which prevents the use of Bros. Attacks until Mario returns. When the boss has lost most of its HP, Mario and Luigi are required to use Finishing Bros. to deal the final blow. (If Mario is tired, he will always recover on this turn.)
Giant Luigi is similar to Giant Bowser's appearance in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story.
