World 2 is the second normal world found in Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels. This world takes place at nighttime, and is the first one in the game to do so.
World 2-1
The player will start off and go across a bridge. There, they will meet up with 4 Koopa Paratroopas, and find 3 ? Blocks, 2 containing coins, and the middle one containing a power-up. Then, the player will see a couple of Brick Blocks, the middle one will contain a Star. The player can go through the Warp Pipe under the Stone Blocks, which will lead them to a Bonus Room. The player will see a couple of Piranha Plants along the way, and will have to jump from pipe to pipe to cross the water. The player will see a moving platform, which will carry them across the water aswell. The player here has two choices; either jump from the green Trampoline, or take the platform. The player will see a Piranha Plant, along with two Hidden Blocks beside it, and a Brick Block containing a Vine that will lead to Coin Heaven. The player will now see four ? Blocks, the first one containing a Poison Mushroom, and the other ones containing coins. Another Trampoline can be seen here. The player will see some Koopa Paratroopas here going horizantally. Then, the player will be on solid ground, and a couple more Koopa Paratroopas can be seen here. Now the staircase along with three Goombas will be shown. Slide down the Flagpole to complete the level, and the player will now be in World 2-2.
World 2-2
The player will see a Koopa Paratroopa right when they enter the level. After, Piranha Plants along with Goombas and Koopa Troopas will appear, with three coins floating in the air. The player will jump across a gap and will see a Piranha Plant here.
World 2-3
Like 2-3 of the original Super Mario Bros., this level consists of jumping from bridge to bridge while dodging jumping Cheep-Cheeps. It also contains many Koopas and an airborne Blooper.
World 2-4
It is possible to get a 1-Up by kicking the Koopa down the narrow passageway near the start of the level and allowing its shell to run into other enemies. There is a hidden power-up near the staircase before the section of the level with many Fire Bars and Podoboos.
