Originally a part of Toa Seiko, TOSE branched off from them as an independent company in 1979, establishing their headquarters in Higashiyama-ku, Kyoto. Since its inception, they are believed to have been involved in the development of over 1,000 games; however, the company is almost never credited in any games they develop, which they have gained a reputation for.
They are most well known for their The Legendary Starfy series, featuring the character Starfy, who has made a few cameos within the Mario series. Within the Mario series, they are also known for developing the Game & Watch Gallery games, as well as Super Princess Peach.
