"Important Item Acquired"[1] is a jingle composed by Koji Kondo for The Legend of Zelda, where it plays upon obtaining new inventory items and equipment. In addition to being arranged for its recurring appearances in the The Legend of Zelda series, the jingle makes several appearances in the Super Mario franchise during crossovers with The Legend of Zelda. Several arrangements of the jingle from the The Legend of Zelda series, including "Master Sword" from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, also appear as part of these crossovers.
History[edit]
Donkey Konga series[edit]
The North American and European versions of Donkey Konga and the Japanese version of Donkey Konga 2 feature the playable song "The Legend of Zelda Theme", which incorporates an arrangement of "Important Item Acquired".
WarioWare series[edit]
WarioWare: Touched![edit]
In WarioWare: Touched!, an arrangement of "Important Item Acquired" plays when completing level 2 of the 8-Bit Hero microgame, which features Link's sprite.
WarioWare: Smooth Moves[edit]
In WarioWare: Smooth Moves, "Master Sword" from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time plays when completing the Ocarina of Time microgame, although the microgame concludes before its full arrangement of "Important Item Acquired" plays.
WarioWare Gold[edit]
In WarioWare Gold, part of "Master Sword" from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time again plays when completing the Ocarina of Time microgame.
Super Mario series[edit]
Super Mario 3D World / Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury[edit]
In Super Mario 3D World and the Nintendo Switch port, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, an arrangement of "Important Item Acquired" is incorporated into the beginning of "Link's Color Panels", which plays in a Color Panel-filled sub-area in Rainbow Run when every Color Panel is lit to reveal the completed sprite of Link and a Green Star.
Super Mario Maker[edit]
In Super Mario Maker, "Important Item Acquired" and its arrangements play when transforming into Costume Mario with various The Legend of Zelda-series costumes:
- Link: the original version of "Important Item Acquired" from The Legend of Zelda
- Zelda: the arrangement from The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
- Sheik: "Important Item Acquired" from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
- Toon Link and Tetra: the arrangement from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD
- Totem Link: the chiptune arrangement from The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes
Super Mario Maker 2[edit]
In Super Mario Maker 2, the original version of "Important Item Acquired" plays when transforming into Link after picking up the Master Sword.
Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions[edit]
In Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions, "Important Item Acquired" from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time plays when the Great Force, which resembles the Triforce from the The Legend of Zelda series, is picked up by Mario. Although the Great Force also appears in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, a generic jingle is played when obtaining the item there.
