- “I know I can be more... And so can IDLE... We can help lots of people. I just know we can...”
- —Ireen, Mario & Luigi: Brothership
Ireen is the self-declared leader of IDLE, appearing in Mario & Luigi: Brothership. She is a young, short, reddish-pink Concordian humanoid, and wears a pink dress shirt and a belt with a spiral in the center on her waist. Ireen also wears an orange scarf around her hair like a bow. Unlike most Concordians, who have separate eyebrows and eyes, Ireen has her eyebrows connected directly to her eyes. She lives on Desolatt Island with her mom. Her name likely stems from the real name "Irene". In the sidequest Back to IDLE's Roots, it is revealed in a flashback that Ireen fought the other IDLE members one-on-one to get them on her team, forming IDLE.
Ireen and the rest of IDLE first meet Mario and Luigi on Desolatt Island, where she and the group task the brothers to find all of them. They all join their adventure on Shipshape Island after the linking of Desolatt Island. Ireen adores Princess Peach, complimenting and showing support for her often.
Ireen takes part in the A Big Debate side quest, where she discusses fashion with Princess Peach, Starlow, Technikki, the Gossips, and Birdo. After the debate, she becomes annoyed upon realizing Mario, Luigi, and Snoutlet were eavesdropping.
If Mario and Luigi choose Adaphne's upgrade to Shipshape Island, Ireen becomes frustrated with Mario and Luigi for not choosing Technikki's upgrade and is forced to wait on Jellyfish Island by Adaphne. If Technikki's upgrade is chosen, Ireen and the rest of IDLE help operate it.
After Reclusa awakens, Ireen is found on Mykroh Islet with Dulles and Ellow cornered by Glohm Snaptors and Glohm Drillbies. Mario and Luigi rescue the IDLE members and later collects their Bond on Shipshape Island.
When Concordia is able to be restored, Ireen has difficulty parting ways with Peach, although Peach assures her that IDLE no longer needs Peach's help.
