The Dark School & the Twisted Fist is a level in Princess Peach: Showtime!, located on the sixth-from-left on the top section of the basement of the Sparkle Theater. It is the third level where the Kung Fu Peach transformation is used.
Layout[edit]
The show starts with Princess Peach in her Kung Fu transformation. Stella senses an "ominous presence" from the eponymous school up ahead, believing the Kung Fu Sparkla to be captured there. After passing a couple boulders and a red staircase, A group of Kung Fu Dūke and Bōjutsu Dūke ambush her after trapping her between four more boulders. After defeating the enemies and destroying the boulders, she presses on, while two more boulders drop down her path and another Bōjutsu Dūke attacks her. She eventually fights five Kung Fu Dūkes on poles in a ravine, and two more hordes of Kung Fu Dūke and Bōjutsu Dūke in front of the school following that. Defeating them allows her to enter the building.
Inside the academy, Peach finds the Kung Fu Sparkla captured with dark energy, as the Yami no Kung Fu Master arrives to challenge Peach to a final bout. He is imbued with dark energy bestowed by Grape, allowing him to create two duplicates of himself, which fight Peach on each side of the battlefield while the original stays in the background with the Kung Fu Sparkla. Peach starts fighting the clone on the right first and switches between targets after each successful combo. The clones fight similarly to the Yami no Kung Fu Master in the first fights, preferring to use physical attacks; however, the clone on the right also uses a dash attack while the clone on the left uses a jump attack. After fending both off long enough, the original Yami no Kung Fu Master attacks Peach as well, using straight and curved energy balls as in the fight in A Kung Fu Legend. Fending off the energy ball lets Peach switch back to the clone on the right; using a successful combo there allows her to defeat this clone and now target the one on the left.
After defeating this clone as well, the Yami no Kung Fu Master engages into the fight proper and lobs energy balls at her, but this time can teleport to the left or the right side of the battlefield as well. A final large thrown energy ball requires multiple kicks from Peach to kick it back at him, defeating him as he loses his dark energy. With Kung Fu Sparkla freed, the Yami no Kung Fu Master quickly regains his dark energy and makes one last attempt to defeat Peach. Peach and Kung Fu Sparkla parry a couple of fast attacks from him before making one final simultaneous kick to defeat him once and for all.
