"Tough Guy Alert!"[1] is a musical theme composed by Yoko Shimomura for Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, where it plays during all non-giant boss battles (sans Broque Monsieur, Broggy, and Dark Bowser, as well as the first boss battles against Bowser and Midbus).

Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story[edit]

Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story marks the first appearance of "Tough Guy Alert!" It is also included in the official album Mario & Luigi RPG: Sound Selection.

Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey[edit]

In the Nintendo 3DS remake of Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey, an arrangement of "Tough Guy Alert!" plays for the same purpose as in the original game, as well as during the first boss battle against Bowser. It is titled "Tough Guy Alert! DX" in the game's sound test.

Unlike in the original game, this arrangement does not play during the boss battles against the Dark Star and Dark Fawful, being replaced with "Destroy the Dark Power! DX" and "A Fateful Clash! DX" respectively.

In Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, the original version of "Tough Guy Alert!" can play in the Woolly World stage.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[edit]

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the original version of "Tough Guy Alert!" can play in any Super Smash Bros.-series or Super Mario-series stage.
