(also referred to as simply Donkey Kong Country 3) is the third installment in the Donkey Kong Country series released in November 1996. It was developed by Rareware and published by Nintendo for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and Super Famicom. It is a sequel and direct follow-up to Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, which followed Donkey Kong Country. The game stars Dixie Kong and her toddler cousin, Kiddy Kong, as they travel through the Northern Kremisphere on an adventure to find Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong from the villainous Kremling Krew and its new leader, KAOS. The soundtracks for Yoshi on the Nintendo Entertainment System and Game Boy were made available on the Nintendo Music app on May 14, 2026. A free demo for Yoshi and the Mysterious Book was released at select stores in the United States on May 7, 2026. In Canada, the demo was released on May 12, 2026. Did You Know? New Super Mario Bros. (pictured) was the first original side-scrolling platformer in the Super Mario series released since 1992's Super Mario Land 2 - 6 Golden Coins, 13½ years prior, starting a new revival of the 2D Super Mario platformers. According to Takashi Tezuka, the games in the Yoshi franchise do not take place in the Mushroom Kingdom. The setting of Yoshi's Story is a pop-up storybook based on a Choose Your Own Adventure book.
