Notes to trivia
Please stop changing those headers, it was decided from this proposal. Nightwicked Bowser

Ahh ok, I understand

Overview
Just letting you know, the minigame sections being titled "Overview" is enforced by a proposal. Super Mario RPG (talk) 13:46, March 22, 2025 (EDT)
Ok but, then why isn’t it on all other minigame pages and only in Yoshi18 (talk/contribs) 13:48, March 22, 2025 (EDT)
- Because the proposal takes a lot of work to enforce. Super Mario RPG (talk) 13:50, March 22, 2025 (EDT)
Fair enough, then lemme help you change it on every page. Yoshi18 (talk/contribs) 13:53, March 22, 2025 (CET)
Also, just a request but how about we have the overview but do the Introduction, Gameplay and Ending in sub-chapters? Yoshi18 (talk/contribs) 13:57, March 22, 2025 (EDT)
- No, the proposal stated to merge it all into a single section. Super Mario RPG (talk) 14:03, March 22, 2025 (EDT)
Ah, ok. I’m already busy changing everything now. Yoshi18 (talk/contribs) 14:37, March 22, 2025 (CET)
One more question: can’t Test for the Best be a sub-chapter? I mean, it fits a bit more in my opinion and it isn’t really part of the standard gameplay and it also isn’t in the proposal that it needs to be merged. I mean we don’t we need an exclusive chapter for it, but I think a exclusive sub-chapter would be nice. Yoshi18 (talk/contribs) 09:30, March 24, 2025 (CET)
RE: Similar minigames
Those are for two different purposes. "See also" is for users wanting to look at related or similar things; the navbox template is a collection of links for users to navigate to other minigames easily. Mario JC 11:07, March 24, 2025 (EDT)
So, does that mean I can put Snipe for the Picking in Surf's Way Up's "See also" tab? Yoshi18 (talk/contribs) 16:09, March 24, 2025 (CET)
- Those aren't even that similar to begin with. Only that they involve earning set amounts of points.

Userspace edits
Dear Yoshi18, It has come to our attention that you are currently in violation of the userspace policy. Please review the policy and abide by it, or else a warning will be issued. Thank you for your cooperation. |
Hi! I know you're having fun updating your userspace and getting a signature, but you've been making lots of tiny changes over the course of many edits. This floods the "Recent changes" and makes it harder to see other edits. To see what an edit looks like before submitting it, click/tap the "Show preview" button. This will allow you to see what the page looks like as well as any errors that may be present.
On the subject of userspace, I understand they are fun to create and design, but also be sure to prioritize mainspace article edits. This is the Mario Wiki after all! Thank you! Sparks (talk)

Yeah, I noticed it too. Sorry! When I finally noticed it I already made too many edits. But thanks for informing me, I'll pay more attention next time! Yoshi18 (talk/contribs) 19:00, March 24, 2025 (EDT)
Regional spelling
I noticed you wrote on your userpage that you'll try to write in British/Australian grammar on this wiki, and I'm gonna have to ask you not to do that because this wiki prioritises American grammar. Nightwicked Bowser

I actually meant that I would do it on my user page. Should’ve been more clear about that. Yoshi18 (talk/contribs) 18:15, April 12, 2025 (EDT)
Welcoming users
Hiya! According MarioWiki:Welcoming users, we don't use the Welcome template anymore. Hasn't been used since 2017 I believe. I appreciate your efforts in making users feel welcome, but in the future you can welcome them in your first talk page message sent to them, so that you can let them know about something and to greet them at the same time! Sparks (talk)

Ooooh, thanks for letting me know! Yoshi18 (talk/contribs) 15:07, April 15, 2025 (EDT)
2,000th edit
I just reached my 2,000th edit on this wiki and I think that should be celebrated! Yoshi18 (talk/contribs) 19:11, April 17, 2025 (EDT)
User pages
Please don't edit other user pages without the user's permission, even if it's just to correct grammar. Technetium (talk) 17:25, April 21, 2025 (EDT)
I understand. Thanks! Yoshi18 (talk/contribs) 10:20, April 22, 2025 (EDT)
2,500th edit
It's kinda crazy how I already did 500 more edits in just a span of 10 days, but I guess I did it! I'm now 1/4 on the way to 10,000 edits! Yoshi18 (talk/contribs) 17:35, April 26, 2025 (EDT)
On the Papa Mario/Mama Mario redirect
There was a convo over on the Discord, and we felt rude about the idea of just leaving you in the dark about this especially after we fat-fingered "undo" and hit "thanks" oh Goodness we're sorry ;A;, so to give a recap of the conversation for you, just so you're not entirely in the dark about things: the names "Papa Mario" and "Mama Mario" are not, in fact, made-up, they come from Nintendo Magazine System (AU), Issue #30, page 10. (Not to be confused with the UK version, mind you; that version had a very different Issue 30.) Given they are both official names for the characters, the fact that redirects are permitted unless they are either bordering on useless ("Ahehehauhe") or outright incorrect ("God Slayer Bowser"), and the lack of statements in the proposal itself suggesting the redirects had to go, the Mama Mario/Papa Mario redirects are allowed to stay. ~Camwoodstock ( talk ☯ contribs )

- It's ok. I think I understood the proposal wrong. And I thought that it said that "Mama Mario" and "Papa Mario" are made up, and that it already happened many other times with characters, seen to be Mario's/Luigi's mom/dad. But thanks for the info! I appreciate it!
Yoshi18 (talk/contribs) 15:15, April 29, 2025 (EDT)
- Even if they were made up, keeping the redirects (especially for a name that had been used for a while) helps preserve the link for other websites that may link to this article, and even for users that search for this article by this name without realising that it had been renamed. There's no need to mark already existing redirects for deletion, or actively go around tagging redirects or changing the letter case of redirects, except in a few circumstances (see MarioWiki:Redirects#Unnecessary redirects).
Categories
I don't know if it's because you ran out of time, but when making a new category, please try to commit to adding more than just one or a few entries to it, since for your past category creations, it seemed like you added them to one page and left them alone. Mario JC 08:06, April 30, 2025 (EDT)
RE: Dead links
Like I said in my last summary, {{dead link}} isn't just for the sake of indicating a dead link, it's to let editors know that it should be updated or replaced in some way (through archive sites like Wayback Machine for example) and puts the pages in a separate maintenance category. Unlike with just replacing it with {{ref needed}}, it at least gives editors a reference point to base their findings off of. Mario JC 10:16, April 30, 2025 (EDT)
Ok, I understand, but how long has that dead link already been on the Wii U page? Yoshi18 (talk/contribs) 11:25, April 30, 2025 (EDT)
