Kinder Joy: Super Mario clarification[edit]

Hey Yoshi18, I noticed you made some edits on the Kinder Joy: Super Mario article regarding its release date. I want to clarify that there are 2 different Super Mario Kinder Joy toy lines. The first was the 35th anniversary line from 2020, and there was a much more recent 2025 line with some different toys that haven't been covered yet (with some from the 2020 line seemingly being redesigned for the new line, making things more confusing for us). More evidence to suggest this is the Wayback Machine's history with this site, with the oldest archive being March 4th, 2025. I think its very unlikely that this site only started getting archives recently if it was created in 2020. My best guess for this site's release date is early 2025, but nothing is concrete. I was actually thinking of 2025 too but I wasn't completely sure. I think doing 2025 is the best possible date for now, yeah. Light-blue Yoshi from Mario Kart Tour Yoshi18 (talk/contribs) 23:17, March 19, 2026 (UTC)

Floaty Fluff[edit]

Hey, how is it going? I was wondering how much time you need to finish the Floaty Fluff page. I'd really like to have that proposal implemented so I can work on others. If you need help, here you have a draft that I was making. Also, if you do not want to make the page anymore, I suppose it is fine, just let me know so I can work on it myself. Sorbetti Sorbetti Sorbetti (talk) 00:59, March 24, 2026 (UTC)

Oh, sorry! I absolutely forgot about it overtime. I was gonna do it the day I asked you if I could, but things got in the way, so I said to myself that I would do it some time later. But yeah, eventually I forgot about it. Thanks for reminding me, though! I made the page for it now! Light-blue Yoshi from Mario Kart Tour Yoshi18 (talk/contribs) 17:05, March 24, 2026 (UTC)

Curious Poplin[edit]

Do you have a citation for Christine Marie Cabanos voicing Curious Poplin in the Nintendo Switch 2 edition? It is possible, although unlikely, she was recast.--TheCatLover738 (talk) 22:40, April 6, 2026 (UTC)

I mean the normal Poplins in the Switch 2 Edition are still voiced by her (unlike the Talking Flowers which were recast). Also, she only does vocal effects for the Poplins (unlike Talking Flowers), so (just like with Peach, the Toads and Toadette) they likely didn't replace her. Light-blue Yoshi from Mario Kart Tour Yoshi18 (talk/contribs) 16:13, April 7, 2026 (UTC)
Yes, it is likely she voices Curious Poplin, but it is not confirmed. We should avoid speculation on articles. --TheCatLover738 (talk) 20:30, April 7, 2026 (UTC)
She still voices the main Poplins in the game tho so why would they replace her for just the new Poplins? Seems very unpractical to me. Light-blue Yoshi from Mario Kart Tour Yoshi18 (talk/contribs) 21:22, April 7, 2026 (UTC)
As I have said, it is very much likely she voices Curious Poplin, but it is not totally confirmed. Unconfirmed information should not be placed on articles to my understanding. --TheCatLover738 (talk) 22:04, April 7, 2026 (UTC)

Crossovers with Sonic the Hedgehog[edit]

Heya, I saw that you edited my draft page on the topic above twice. I'll tell you two things, nothing too alarming but just to let you know: firstly, please just ask me for permission before editing my page drafts. Second, while I do admit that the Sonic Fandom wiki features more extensive coverage on certain subjects (eg the mobile games), I believe Sonic Retro should have higher priority in interwiki links due to y'know, the pitfalls of Fandom unless Sonic Retro simply doesn't have an article for that particular subject, which is why I used a Fandom link when referring to the main Sonic the Hedgehog series in the infobox, for example. I'll go ahead and revert your edits for these reasons. While yes, this isn't the first time a similar thing happened on the same page, at least that edit featured an actual benefit to it, that is adding a relevant image. SuperGamer18 (talk) 17:25, April 19, 2026 (UTC)

Oh man...sorry for not asking for permission! And yeah, more official wikis (as in, not fandoms), go first yeah. I totally understand why my edits will be undone. One more thing, though. About Sonic Rumble Party, isn't it just called Sonic Rumble? Light-blue Yoshi from Mario Kart Tour Yoshi18 (talk/contribs) 21:01, April 20, 2026 (UTC)
Sonic Rumble was the former name of the game. They've started adding Party to the title since the Smurfs crossover I think, and since wiki policy prioritizes newer names for things like games and Sonic Retro didn't update that, I have to change that myself. Haven't implemented it in most other Sonic-related subjects however. SuperGamer18 (talk) 21:54, April 20, 2026 (UTC)
It seems like the name was changed recently (in March this year). I wonder why they would change it tho. The name of the game was already perfect in my opinion. Adding "Party" to it makes it feel kinda stale. Light-blue Yoshi from Mario Kart Tour Yoshi18 (talk/contribs) 13:25, April 21, 2026 (UTC)
Well, that's Rovio's fault, not mine (remember, they were bought by Sega a few years ago). SuperGamer18 (talk) 17:36, April 21, 2026 (UTC)

File name changes[edit]

Please avoid moving file names if possible, it breaks older revisions of the page, creates unnecessary busywork for staff, and most importantly breaks any possible links to the file from outside the website. The name "File:SMG Hidden Launch Star.png" is legible, sufficient in describing the subject and isn't breaking any possible naming convention among other files. — Lady Sophie_17 Wiggler Sophie.png(T|C) 14:52, April 27, 2026 (UTC)

There are two unused launch stars in Dusty Dune Galaxy, though. We just don't yet have an image for the second one yet. I thought it would make sense to give File:SMG Hidden Launch Star.png the name "File:SMG Dusty Dune Galaxy Hidden Launch Star 1" (similarly to File:SMG Deep Dark Galaxy Launch Star.png) in case we ever get an image for the second launch star. Light-blue Yoshi from Mario Kart Tour Yoshi18 (talk/contribs) 14:58, April 27, 2026 (UTC)
We will cross that bridge if we get to it. In that case the second one can just be called "Hidden Launch Star 2" or something similar. — Lady Sophie_17 Wiggler Sophie.png(T|C) 15:03, April 27, 2026 (UTC)
This is a bit off-topic but just wanna be sure before I do something unwanted. Can I move the last couple MKWii icon files (namely File:MKW Icon mode Balloon Battle.png, File:MKW Icon mode Coin Runners.png, File:MKW Icon mode Race.png and File:MKW Icon mode Mirror.png) so they match with the other icon files or should I leave them how they are? Light-blue Yoshi from Mario Kart Tour Yoshi18 (talk/contribs) 15:13, April 27, 2026 (UTC)
Sure. — Lady Sophie_17 Wiggler Sophie.png(T|C) 16:03, April 27, 2026 (UTC)
I named them that way so they'd appear next to each other alphabetically, along with the other icons you had moved before you made that message. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 17:30, April 27, 2026 (UTC)
Wouldn't it fit more though if they were named like most other icons in the game? Light-blue Yoshi from Mario Kart Tour Yoshi18 (talk/contribs) 17:46, April 27, 2026 (UTC)
Those were the only icon images of that size. The idea is "this is an icon, a cup icon more specifically, and mushroom most specifically." Thus all appear next to each other in the category. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 18:05, April 27, 2026 (UTC)
I actually didn't think of that. But what about all the other images? They're named "MKW [insert thing] Cup/Mode (excluding Wii Stages and Retro Stages, where "Cup" and "Mode" is excluded) Icon". Light-blue Yoshi from Mario Kart Tour Yoshi18 (talk/contribs) 18:36, April 27, 2026 (UTC)
Looks to me there were several different naming conventions due to different uploaders at different times. The ones I uploaded previously used scaled-up versions of the item icons for some reason. Regardless, it's generally discouraged to move things here unless they -need- to be, which is why I didn't move the others to match mine when I uploaded those. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 19:00, April 27, 2026 (UTC)
I totally get that, but I thought it'd make sense for all the images to be named the same (considering that's the case for MKWorld). I won't do it for other games, as that will cause too much of a moving and replacing chaos. Light-blue Yoshi from Mario Kart Tour Yoshi18 (talk/contribs) 22:49, April 27, 2026 (UTC)

Getting New Super Mario Bros. U to Featured[edit]

Hey! It's me Paradox from the Super Mario Boards! Since you agreed you wanted to help, I think we should talk about what we should do. I also have a question. First of all, you said that you think New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe is going to do better, why do you think that? I want to know so we can get on the same page. Thank you for helping! 🌀Paradox🌀 (talk) 23:36, April 28, 2026 (UTC)

The main reason I think that would be better is because that way we also somewhat include New Super Luigi U. Light-blue Yoshi from Mario Kart Tour Yoshi18 (talk/contribs) 16:48, May 1, 2026 (UTC)
That makes sense, also, I got Boo1268 helping, so I'll ask his opinion on this. Mario costume pose in Super Mario MakerParadox Mario's sprite from Mario & Wario. (talk) 22:38, May 3, 2026 (UTC)

Dutch name for "stelsel"[edit]

Hi Yoshi18,

I saw that other users have translated the word "stelsel" with "system". I get what you mean, but I do not think that translating it as "galaxy" captures the essence of the word "stelsel" as in "sterrenstelsel" i.e. "galaxy". The usage of the word "Stelsel" with "System" is also done with the word "Zonnestelsel" <-> "Solar System". Thanks for your time!

Still, I'm Dutch and "stelsel" is in this case a short way of saying "sterrenstelsel". Also don't forget that this is the Super Mario Galaxy games were talking about. I'm very sure "stelsel" stands for "galaxy" here.

Coin Bag Heyho[edit]

Why were you changing the development title template on the Coin Bag Heyho page to the non-English title template? But development titles aren't Japanese titles. 51.187.26.54 18:39, May 14, 2026 (UTC)

Dude, this was 2 MONTHS ago. Let it rest. Light-blue Yoshi from Mario Kart Tour Yoshi18 (talk/contribs) 18:43, May 14, 2026 (UTC)
While that was 2 months ago, then why did you do it? 51.187.26.54 19:08, May 14, 2026 (UTC)
People make mistakes, and that's normal. The problem was resolved; why are you trying to bring it up again? What's your purpose in doing this? Sorbetti Sorbetti Sorbetti (talk) 19:13, May 14, 2026 (UTC)
What's even the point of bringing this up 2 months after it happened? I already explained why in the edit summaries. Nonetheless, it was 2 months ago, so WHO cares? Light-blue Yoshi from Mario Kart Tour Yoshi18 (talk/contribs) 19:20, May 14, 2026 (UTC)
