Greetings and salutations! I'm Ryker. Better known on this wiki as Rykitu! I'm a media enthusiast who specializes in the Mario and Donkey Kong franchises. You may know me from my discoveries regarding Banpresto arcade machines or my countless edits on List of characters and List of advertisements.

Besides my edits on lists, I mostly add information from obscure, forgotten, or ignored pieces of Mario media that no one would think of documenting because that kind of stuff interests me the most.

Also, for those wondering how to pronounce my name, it is R-eye-kit-2. Or R-eye-key-2 depending on how you pronounce "Lakitu". I prefer the former, but you pronounce it the way you like to pronounce it.

This page is in the process of a rewrite, so don't expect some things to stay like this for much longer...

My history with the Mario franchise

My interest for the Super Mario series started what I believe to be the day Super Mario Run was releasing. When my dad downloaded the game and I played it nonstop. I even got him to pay the 10$ for the rest of the game. Eventually for Christmas I asked for a Wii (which I mistaken for a Wii U much like everyone else did), Super Mario Maker and Super Mario 3D World. All of which I never got, likely because the Nintendo Switch was already out. But I didn't understand what consoles were at the time. After that, I slowly lost interest and focused my time on stuff like Disney, Thomas & Friends, and Arthur. (Yeah, I used to be one of those kids). Until 2020, when I realized that I probably need better interests, and thats when I rediscovered the Mario franchise. And when I get into a franchise, I typically see if it has a wiki and start browsing it. Which led me to the infamous Fandom wiki. I browsed there for a few months, and Fandom sucks. You get swarmed with ads, causing your battery to decrease, and they constantly promote they're terrible "content" and other wiki's you may have no interest on. That along with other problems, I decided to stop using that wiki (which I was lurking on, so don't expect me to have an account there). And after browsing this for a few years, I became a member. I was ok at first, but I slowly improved, and now I am writing detailed pages! I have also changed a lot as a person, so if you see bad takes on some older versions of this page or a certain proposal where I crash out over a picture on a stub template, that was 2024 me, and I've improved as a person.

I really like it here, everyone is really nice, and we all share our special interest in the red plumber. This is, in my opinion, the greatest fan wiki on the entire internet. And it is an honor to be apart of it.

Boo-only claw machine (A talk page was created for the article asking to be deleted. I admitted I was a little skeptical when writing the article with what little we had. It was eventually deleted afterwards.)
Rob Shultz (refers to the person that appears in (from my knowledge) the only ripped copy of Mario 'n Me. The page was deleted due to the fact that each copy is personalized, and the copy uploaded to the internet just so happened to feature him. If we kept the article, we would have to create pages for everybody who appeared in every copy, and the content of the page would be the same for everyone.)
Jack (Quest for the amiibo!) (refers to the main protagonist of this cringe Disney Channel Original Movie-like ad for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. The page was deleted due to a proposal deciding to make the ad a guest appearance, meaning no articles for the characters.)

The Roadmap

Right now, my main focus is Nintendo's 2017 Summer of Play Tour and The Play Nintendo Show. Everything below the first entry will be worked on once the project is finished.

Find information on Nintendo's 2017 Summer of Play Tour and write articles with that information.
Make articles for every episode of The Play Nintendo Show, and write character/item articles in the process.
Write articles for the characters in Super Mario no Shōbōtai and Super Mario no Kōtsū Anzen.
Finish the projects in my sandbox (Terebi Denwa: Super Mario World information requires me to install MAME)

If lost media is found on my past projects (such as Donkey Kong coloring books and King Koopa's Kool Kartoons), I'll add the information on what was found.

List of advertisements progress is currently on hiatus due to there not much to report on for most of them, and YouTube's stupid autodubbing update is not helping any of that lost motivation.

List of Mario games I've played

The following is a list of Mario games I've played in one way or another.

Game	Platform	Comments
	Arcade	Ok-ish platformer. Mario not being able to jump very high and take fall damage is an interesting concept, but there are a lot of jumps you would make where you think you'll be fine, when you aren't.
	Arcade	Same thing with the above, except this game is harder.
	Arcade	Really fun with other people, ok if you're alone.
	NES	You basically have no reason to play again as soon as DK falls to his doom.
	NES	Same problem as NES DK but you get more stages and it's more unique.
	NES	Same thoughts as Arcade version. But playing it over and over again does get repetitive after some time.
	Arcade	Found the game, but pointing the joystick up didn't work. Therefore, I don't have an opinion as of now. Although I bet it isn't much different from its NES counterpart.
	NES	Bad
	NES	I played this game before I played actual pinball. And when I did, I kept spamming the flippers and I failed. So not only is this game a big dumb stupid LIAR, but it also poorly simulates pinball. I know this game released over 40 years ago, but even if pinball fans were to play this back than, I don't think they would've enjoyed it.
	NES	I understand why this game flopped. Not because it's bad, but because the genre completely shifted to every other arcade game ever. Shooting games are ok, but this is not a good shooting game.
	NES	Ok, but not good enough for me to willingly complete all 100 phases.
	NES	Great time-killer. But the controls aged horribly.
	VS. System	Fun and frustrating. Pretty much the same thoughts as the above.
	Famicom Disk System	This game has a bad reputation just because it's hard. I personally think of it the same way as SMB1, just maybe play this instead if you're tired of seeing 1-1 for the 50th time.
	NES	Two mediocre games in one makes for a meh game.
	NES	This is extremely underrated. A fun gameplay element AND unique bosses? Truly an improvement over SMB1, and Super Mario Bros. Wonder boss-wise. Those who criticize the game because it's a reskin of Doki Doki Panic have not played the game.
	NES	Great game, just make sure to play a version with save states.
	Game Boy	Pretty fun, but repetitive overtime.
	Game Boy	I feel the same about this as SMB1. But maybe a tad bit better as it is very unique.
	Game Boy	Very addictive. Completely understand why it became the best-selling video game of all time for awhile.
	NES	Not skilled enough to get past around the 5th level.
	Game Boy	Same idea, but no color. Why?
	SNES	I like all the secrets this game has. As well as the Cape Feather, and of course, Yoshi. Prefer this over SMB3.
	NES	Meh.
	NES	Addictive, but not as addictive as Tetris.
	Game Boy	Same thoughts as the NES version, although I prefer that version more because of the bigger screen and color.
	Arcade	Yes. I played one of the 519 copies of this game in the world. Even though I sucked at it (because my only experience with pinball was Pinball on the NES), but I did enjoy it. I played this on my trip to Las Vegas, which was an absolute disaster. The Pinball Museum this was located in is the only positive thing I have to say about the city besides the architecture and a Dairy Queen that still has an Orange Julius collaboration. I'm good at Pinball now thanks more experience, but going back to that hellhole is simply not worth it.
	SNES	As an artist myself, (not a good one, but an artist none the less) this is more of a novelty than an art tool. When you draw lines at a moderate pace, there will still be gaps the paint can get through, so you have to go slow. Like, really slow. Which is kind of annoying! I also haven't gotten the hang of the music mode yet either.
	SNES	The SMB1 of Mario Kart. Good, but the controls are horrible.
	Game Boy	I like this for similar reasons as SMB2. I enjoy the unique bosses and locations. The music is also really good. If I had to choose a theme song for my life, it would definitely be the Main Theme from this game. Leagues better than SML1.
	NES	More addictive then Yoshi, but not as addictive as Tetris. Remember playing this on the Delta emulator.
	SNES	Great collection of remastered NES games. But it's overshadowed by a better version with an extra game.
	SNES	Gameplay is really boring. They do try to make it interesting by increasing the difficulty and adding new mechanics, but that doesn't save it, which is rare for a puzzle game. I do enjoy this game's soundtrack, though.
	NES	I liked this game! Even though it's literally impossible after you beat Fake Wario.
	Game Boy	A great and super underrated game. This took way too long to release on NSO.
	SNES	I enjoyed this one! I liked the mechanics, controls, the characters, a lot about it is really good! My only complaint is the locations of the bonus rooms that are required for 100% completion.
	SNES	Another game I played via Delta. Big mistake, as I'm pretty sure this game would be better if I played it on Switch (speaking of which, why isn't this on NSO?)
	SNES	Fun collection of addictive puzzle games.
	SNES	Better then the original Super Mario All-Stars in everyway all because of Super Mario World. Once again, I remember playing this on Delta emulator back in my Freshman year (yikes) before I deleted the emulator because of a certain game that is ahead...
	Game Boy	It's pretty good. Although sometimes it feels like a complete guessing game.
	Game Boy	Why did they think it was a good idea to port one of the most graphically impressive SNES games to a portable console that can't display color?
	SNES	It's decent. I enjoy the bosses, music, artstyle, all of it. A major complaint I have is some of the levels being a real slog.
	SNES	I feel the same way about this game as I do with Mario's Picross.
	SNES	Same as DKC1, but the 100% conditions are ridiculous. But that can be said for all the classic DKC games.
	SNES	I really tried to give the RPG games a shot, sometimes I find them fun at the beginning, but they always bring in new mechanics I'm not a fan of. Therefore, don't expect me to say much about these. I am willing to give them another shot, however.
	Nintendo 64	Yet another great game. Every time I replay it, I always find fun.
	Nintendo 64	Definitely the improvement over SMK, but the rubber banding in this game is insane.
	Game Boy	Yet another certified Delta Emulator classic. Ehhhhhh
	Nintendo 64	Worse then the original because I can't BLJ.
	Nintendo 64	The only reason this is on this list is because I played it for long enough for me to consider this something I played. Even though I haven't played it long enough to have an opinion.
	SNES	They turned an ok time-killer into a confusing puzzle game.
	Nintendo 64	I tried to play this game with my family, who's only party game they would play was Superstars. They did not like it. I think it is ok, but good luck beating Tug-O-War without getting a blister or loosing your mind!
	Nintendo 64	This is a good fighting game. I still have no idea how I beat the story mode in one go.
	Game Boy Color	It's pretty fun. Better then G&WG1 because I played it on a more professional console.
	Game Boy Color	Just play All-Stars (or Super Mario Bros. Remastered). Unless You vs. Boo is your thing.
	Game Boy Color	I've been playing Wario Land 4 more recently, so I think I'll give this one a better shot soon.
	Nintendo 64	Haven't played much of it
	Nintendo 64	This is the RPG I got the farthest in. Maybe I'll try it again someday.
	Game Boy Advance	Great remaster of a remaster.
	Nintendo 64	I am not used to using arrow buttons on controllers with joysticks. Another game to add to the "play it again and maybe my opinion would change" list.
	Game Boy Advance	It's Super Mario Kart, but better (not by much)
	Game Boy Advance	Best Wario Land game out of the two I've played.
	Game Boy Advance	Another good remaster that puts the Dragon Coins to good use and gives the Galoomba's sunglasses.
	Nintendo GameCube	Extremely difficult to the point I don't like it. The Lost Levels had a reason to be difficult. This is just unfair.
	Game Boy Advance	Same as the SNES version.
	Game Boy Advance	This game is fantastic! I like the game's concept and the characters are great!
	Game Boy Advance	The best advance game when it comes to improving the original.
	Game Boy Advance	Got to the Beanbean Kingdom, and that is where my save file is left off.
	Game Boy Advance	I played the Switch version first, and while I prefer that version more, I can appreciate this version for a harder challenge.
	Nintendo DS	ANOTHER Delta game. I played this game up to the title screen due to the game below.
	Nintendo DS	The final Delta game, and the reason I deleted it. This game is probably really good. But I played it in the worst way possible: on a mobile phone. The buttons were too tiny and I often had problems with that. Even worse, I got the ROM from a site which I won't name (which I've used before and was safe), but after playing for awhile, I realized that my phone was heating up and my battery was going down and when I plugged it in, it was still going down and I had to delete the game. The battery went back to normal afterwards. I've decided to stop getting ROMs until I find more reliable sites and get more used to my laptop for stuff other than game development.
	Wii	Played this in Super Mario 3D All-Stars and SMG1+SMG2. I initially disliked the game due to Mario moving super slow (and me mostly playing when the Switch is inserted into the dock instead of the much easier to control handheld mode) but nowadays I think the game deserves its praise for all the reasons people praise it for!
	Arcade	It's ok. Announcer is kind of annoying, and the controls for turning are terrible.
	Wii U	I played this game as a demo in a museum. But I was so young and trash at console games so I don't have an opinion. I barely remember anything from that particular day either.
	Arcade	I might try the Luigi's Mansion series one day, but for now this is my only experience. And it is ok.
	iOS/Android	My first Mario game! It's ok looking back.
	Nintendo Switch	Great multiplayer game! It's what a Mario Kart should be.
	Nintendo Switch	The best 3D Mario.
	Nintendo Switch	The Captain Toad levels in 3D World are ok. Does this mean an entire game centered around Captain Toad levels should be made? Uhhhhh
	Nintendo Switch	They were WAY too generous in this one.
	Nintendo Switch	I'm not that good at it (I mostly main Captain Falcon and Falcon Punch and Falcon Kick everyone to varying degrees of success) but I do see why people enjoy it. Even if I do suck, I enjoy it. Just wish they didn't make like 30% of the roster anime swordfighters.
	Nintendo Switch	This game is overhated. The only reason people hate this is because they were tired of the NSMB series. I think it's fine.
	Nintendo Switch	I played this game to death when I got my switch. Very fun, but a bit too limiting.
	HTML	If you couldn't tell by my userpage, I am cracked at Mario knowledge. Even the hard questions were a breeze. (The only one I struggled at in the slightest was the question about F.L.U.D.D., but the incorrect answers were giving it away anyways)
	Nintendo Switch	This game is the only reason I got to play Galaxy and Sunshine. Those are good, but after playing the SM64 remake, I can see why people hate it.
	Game & Watch	A really random way to play SMB1 and especially The Lost Levels. Ball is ridiculously easy if you are focused and paying attention. I also enjoy the original artwork created for the game, as well as the watch.
	Nintendo Switch	Just like Super Mario Bros. 2, 3D World is very underrated. I love the gameplay of a linear 3D Mario. On the other hand, Bowser's Fury is overrated. Not saying its bad, I just think its ok. Not a fan of Bowser showing up for about a minute just to make things harder for me if I'm trying to get a shine. Also, I refuse to believe this game is mainline.
	Nintendo Switch	Out of the two WarioWare games I've played, this is the best one. I like the idea of playing as all the different characters and them having different strengths and weaknesses (except for the characters that require rings to maneuver). The microgames are also pretty solid.
	Nintendo Switch	Better then Super Mario Party in every way.

	Skybox Italia (played reskin on Samsung TV)	I technically didn't play this game, but I DID play Pongoal, which was a reskinned version of this game without the Mario theming so it counts in my opinion. The controls are very unresponsive, which brings this Pong clone down a lot. But I would rather play this game then the other games Play.Works have to offer (shudders). They also started adding ads mid-gameplay, so that kinda sucks.
	Nintendo Switch	Great puzzle game! Reminds me of those puzzle-based Flash games you would find on CoolMathGames or ABCya but turned into a platformer. Now when are they going to remake DK94?
	Nintendo Switch	I was immensely disappointed when I found out this game wasn't a proper championship. Still an ok game though.
	Nintendo Switch	Better then Superstars, but when you're in a family who wants to play Party Mode and not the other modes, unlocking things are gonna be difficult.
	Nintendo Switch	Pretty good, from what I've played of it at a Best Buy demo of all places.
	Nintendo Switch 2	This game I feel like is too experimental. Free roaming is pretty good. But I do wish the controls had some improvement and the character roster had more returning picks than random Mario enemies they picked out of a hat.
	Nintendo Switch 2	Just like DKCHD, I only played this as a demo. And it's pretty great!
	HTML (intended to be used on mobile devices)	This certainly is a thing that exists. This is just a camera, but now with a Mario banner around it. Whoa.
	Nintendo Switch	One thing I hoped they would change in this remaster is Mario's speed to make him move faster like they did with 3D World, which they didn't change. So my thoughts on this are the same.
	Nintendo Switch	Pretty good so far. I think this might be better than Galaxy 1...
	Nintendo Switch 2	Again, another game I only played the kiosk version. (I mean, yeah, the full game isn't even out yet). Did not get very far as some kid wanted to play before I could get Mr. E to shut up.
