Ricco Harbor is a trading port in Isle Delfino in the game Super Mario Sunshine. Mario can access Ricco Harbor after he has three Shine Sprites and defeats the Gatekeeper that devoured the Boathouse. Its name "Ricco" is Italian for "rich", so the name translates to "Rich Harbor". Ricco Harbor ("Rich Harbor") can also be a parody play on the name of the Caribbean island Puerto Rico (which, in Spanish, means "Rich Port").
In Mario Power Tennis, Gooper Blooper Court and the minigame Gooper Blooper Volley are set in Ricco Harbor. Ricco Harbor makes a cameo in the background of the Delfino Plaza stage in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Ricco Harbor is referenced in Animal Crossing: New Leaf by the character Gulliver.[1]
Layout
The player starts in a small port area with some storage sheds. One of the Manhole entrances is in this area as is a box with a Turbo Nozzle. During Episodes 2 and 6, there is a pier to the right where the Big Daddy of Blooper-surfing lets Mario use his Blooper Racers. Around the port are two large boats the player can use to reach other areas of the level.
The boat directly ahead of the player's starting position leads to the large port. The boat itself has a fenced off deck that holds a few Swoopin' Stus. The player can take one of two ways to reach the port: By simply jumping of the left side of the ship, the player lands in a lower area with many crates and the large Ricco Tower. By using a Manhole here, the player can reach the upper ledge and into the port. Another way is to use a swinging grate platform off the right of the ship. The grate brings the player to two other platforms with an arrow on them, pointing toward the helipad ahead. During Episode 1 and Episode 2, a large chain-link box maze is available to help the player across the platforms. This is replaced by a large yellow bottle shaped cage from Episode 3 on. After the arrow platforms is another swinging platform that leads to a chuckster. The distance of the throw depends on the episode number, with later episodes having the Pianta throw Mario farther. To the left of this platform is a submerged submarine, which the player can surface by spraying the wheel above them. Crossing the submarine leads to a rising platform the player can use to reach the port.
The large port has several buildings along the hillside, though Mario cannot enter any of them. During certain episodes, Bloopers can be found sliding across the ground. Near the houses is a large fruit-dispensing machine; by Ground Pounding the large buttons on top, a random fruit drops out. Beyond the fruit machine is a plaza where Gooper Blooper is fought during the first episode or a large market with a Yoshi egg is found during later episodes. To the right of the plaza is a tall helipad the player can reach by using the Rocket Nozzle found underneath it.
The boat to the right of the player's staring position leads to a large obstacle course-like group of beams and platforms positioned over the level. The only time the player really needs to climb these platforms is during Episode 3: The Caged Shine Sprite. The platforms are made up of metal screens the player can climb, which contain panels to flip around using , large cranes that carry the player across gaps, moving platforms, and trampolines.
In Episodes 1-5, there is a layer of black Goop over the water that will damage Mario if he makes contact with it. The goop cannot be cleaned off, but the player can dive underneath it without contacting it. The location of the goop changes each episode and appears in areas near where the Shine in that episode appears. In Episodes 6-8, the goop disappears and Mario can explore the waters of the harbor freely. The black goop appears in the following locations:
- Just below the plaza in Episode 1
- In front of the tunnel leading into the racecourse in Episode 2
- Below the bottle shaped cage in Episode 3
- By Ricco Tower in Episode 4
- Below the helipad in Episode 5
The array of ships in Ricco Harbor changes as the episodes go by. The ships range from small motor boats to Handysize ships and a Submarine. The number of ships changes from only three in Episode 1 to over a dozen in Episode 6. However, four ships always are in port:
- A Handysize container ship directly in front of the starting point. It is red and black, and appears to be under repair, as there is caging around it that resembles a dry dock.
- Another Handysize ship, it is located to the right of the starting point. This ship appears to be a bulk carrier, because it has its own crane, and it has several steel beams and pipes as its cargo. It is blue and white.
- A very small yellow submarine that is anchored in the middle of the port. This submarine is totally submerged in the first level, and the player can earn a blue coin for raising it completely.
- A small size cruise ship type of recreational Yacht between in the middle of entrance to the port.

Profiles
- Guide Book: Isle Delfino's port city is home to boats of all sizes and a thriving tourist trade. The fish market has the freshest seafood for miles around.
Music
- Main article: Isle Delfino (theme)
The "Ricco Harbor" theme is an arrangement of the "Isle Delfino" theme in the key of C major, similar to the themes of Gelato Beach and Bianco Hills. However, this arrangement is in a ska style, with prominent saxophone and electric guitar instrumentation. It was composed by Koji Kondo.
"Ricco Harbor" returns as a playable track in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, where it can be played on the Delfino Plaza stage, and in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, where it can be played on any Super Smash Bros.- and Super Mario-series stage.
The theme is also featured on the Super Mario Sunshine Original Soundtrack in Super Mario 3D All-Stars.

Trivia
- When viewing Delfino Plaza from Ricco Harbor, there is a Warp Pipe visible on the island between them. This pipe is not present when visiting from Delfino Plaza. This is likely a developmental oversight, as there is an island like it near Delfino Plaza, but not on the same side of the town as Ricco Harbor.
- The official Super Mario X account for Italian audiences has its location set to Ricco Harbor (referred to as Porto Giocondo, its name in the Italian localization of Super Mario Sunshine).[2]
