The stage begins with Princess Peach as a swordfighter arriving inside a castle. After walking through a passageway blocked off by Sour Bunch minions, she arrives at a big hall, where two Theets are held captive through levitation magic. After a while, the stage's boss, Phantom Knight, appears from the back wall, claiming that the castle is now his and that any intruders will be defeated on the spot. As he speaks, he opens a secret trapdoor under Peach's feet, causing her to fall into a lower part of the castle.

Swordfighter Peach imprisoned with two Theets.

Peach falls into a prison behind the bars with two Theets who told her that the phantom Sour Bunch minions trapped them with their dark powers. Peach can break the prison bars to break free and fight the minions. If Peach chooses to break free the other two Theets behind the bars, a Theet balloon appears. Proceeding breaking the bars east, Peach must defeat more minions and continue heading east to the next area.

In the next area, she will encounter phantom Sour Bunch enemy. If Peach chooses to break the bars a Theet is behind, she can also break a vase with a Sparkle Gem. Proceeding east, there is another prison. If Peach chooses to break the prison bars, she can pose under a hidden spotlight leading to a secret sub-area where she can obtain coins by breaking the coin boxes. Continuing east after the second prison, Peach encounters two scared Theets who are lifted up while phantom enemies appear. After Peach defeats the enemies, a Phantom Knight shows up on the wall, dismayed that Swordfighter Peach showed up; he frees the Theets.

Proceeding to the next area, the Phantom Knight manipulates platforms to fall as Peach walks over them. As she progresses, there are eight Sparkle Gem shards she can pick up to obtain a Sparkle Gem. Then the Phantom Knight controls pictures in frames, chandeliers and treasure chests to fall from above; Peach can break them with her rapier. There is a Ribboner clinging to a picture; breaking the picture that Ribboner is clinging to will reward Peach a Stella ribbon. Proceeding up the stairs, Peach can choose to pose in a spotlight leading to the hidden sub-area; Peach must defeat all enemies. Continuing from the stairs, Peach will encounter enemies and falling objects; Peach can break a treasure chest that hints a Sparkle Gem inside. At the end of the area is an entrance that Peach can break. There is a Sparkle Gem hidden in one of the vases. Entering the entrance, Peach must jump up the broken stairs leading her to the area where she started.

Swordfighter Peach versus Phantom Knight

Showing up where the Phantom Knight held three Theets hostage, the Phantom Knight starts the battle against Peach. Swordfighter Peach can defeat Phantom Knight thrice in battle. In the first phase of battle, Phantom Knight will choose either side of the wall where he will show up to attack Peach; Peach can dodge the attack and counterattack. In the second phase of battle, Phantom Knight controls the tiles to fall which Peach must evade, along with the chandeliers and treasure chests to fall under Peach with an exception of one spot where Peach can avoid being harmed; however, Peach can damage the falling objects. In the third phase, Phantom Knight also summons phantom Sour Bunch bats from the wall heading straight. Peach can choose to avoid getting hit or damage the enemies. Upon defeat, the Phantom Knight fades and the three Theets are freed from his clutches. The castle lights up back to its normal state and a Sparkle Gem is rewarded, completing the level.
