Bomb Mario[1] is a form that Mario can assume, and exclusively appears in the file-select screen of Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins. If Mario hits the CLEAR located on the right instead of choosing one of the three Warp Pipes to start a save file, he transforms into Bomb Mario. Selecting a Warp Pipe in this form will delete its associated saved data.
Bomb Wario[2] later appears in Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 and in Virtual Boy Wario Land, which use an identical method of deleting files.
A similar-looking transformation goes unused in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. The bomb-shaped Yoshi would explode to destroy all enemies on the screen.[3]
