This article is about the CoroCoro Comic manga. For the Pikkapika Comics manga, see Super Mario-kun (Pikkapika Comics).

Template:Manga infobox Super Mario-kun (stylised as SUPER MARIO KUN in Super Mario Maker) is a Japanese-published Super Mario manga series written by Yukio Sawada and published by Shogakukan. The manga has been serialized monthly in CoroCoro Comic since November 1990 with the first tankōbon released in July 1991. They contain many of the characters and scenarios retellings of various Super Mario games, including Super Mario World and Paper Mario. Some events in the books do not happen in games.

The series is aimed at children, and it features different twists on the stories. It contains some crude humor, puns, breaking the fourth wall, nudity, and slapstick violence. There are also a few puzzles (such as mazes and objects hidden in scenes) to be solved throughout the installments.

Starting in August 2014, the Super Mario-kun series has been released for the "Bookstore Anywhere" application on Nintendo 3DS in Japan. The series has been released in bundles of ten volumes up to volume 57, and are available for 4,400 yen each. The first set containing volumes one through ten was released on August 27, 2014 the second set on September 24, the third on October 29, and the fourth on November 26.[1]

In December 2014, Soleil Productions began to publish a French localization of the series in its Soleil Manga collection, titled Super Mario: Manga Adventures.[2] A Spanish translation by Planeta DeAgostini under the name Super Mario Aventuras has started to be released since late November 2016.[3] On March 31, 2020, VIZ Media announced that an English translation of the "best-of" Super Mario-kun would be released.[4] The volume is titled Super Mario Bros.: Manga Mania, and the actual book was titled Super Mario Manga Mania, which released on December 8, 2020, and was 160 pages long.[5][6] The book contains stories based on Paper Mario, Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario Galaxy, Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, Super Paper Mario, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, and an extra story titled "Super Mari-Old". Another best-of collection is issued in 2023 in the form of Super Mario-kun Special Selection, starting with a remake of the first ever chapter of the manga series.[7]

To celebrate the manga series' 25th anniversary, Mario's Super Mario-kun design was added as a Costume Mario in Super Mario Maker. The costume is unlocked by clearing the "SUPER MARIO KUN 25th Anniversary" Event Course.

The three travel through Yoshi's Island and the Donut Plains, encountering many foes, including the four Mutant Ninja Sentai Nokonokoman, and defeating Iggy and Morton.

2 Second part of the Super Mario World arc: Mario, Luigi and Yoshi travel through Vanilla Dome, the Twin Bridges, the Forest of Illusion and look for the Star Road, defeating the Mekakuppa, Ludwig and Roy as well as Donkey Kong who was working for the latter.

The volume concludes with a recap of Mario's previous adventures and jobs: Donkey Kong, Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros., Golf, Tennis, Wrecking Crew, Punch-Out!!, Super Mario Bros. 3, Tetris and Dr. Mario, plus a nod to SimCity.

4 Fourth part of the Super Mario World arc: Mario, Luigi and Yoshi return in the Valley of Bowser and must face more traps from Bowser's troops as the winter holidays come near. On the way to rescuing Princess Peach, the heroes find themselves warped into Hyrule, have to face a giant aggressive Kaiju Mario created through Mario Paint, must rescue the final Yoshi egg and defeat Larry, which manages to kill Mario and sending him to Hell, but he escapes, and finally have a climactic battle against Bowser at Bowser's Castle during his and Peach's marriage. 6 Sixth part of the Super Mario World arc: The first half taking place after Volume 5's events, and the second part right after Volume 4's: Mario, Luigi and Yoshi go back to their rescue of Princess Peach and face more foes, while chapters make references to Super Mario Kart, Super Mario Bros. 2 and Yoshi's Cookie. Mario is challenged twice by Donkey Kong Jr. to a kart race, the heroes fight with Birdo (which later joins them) and Mouser. After the rescue of Princess Peach, she is kidnapped again and taken to the Special Zone. Mario and Bowser have a Super Mario Kart Battle Mode duel before they must team up to save Princess Peach from a curse meant for Mario.

The volume ends with an anticipation of the next story arc, Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins: Mario discovers that Wario has conquered the Mario Land and, with the help of a sentient Carrot, begins his journey to liberate it.

7 First part of the Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins arc: Mario returns to the Mario Land, only to discover that his old friend Wario has conquered it. Helped by a Carrot, he goes to find the six Golden Coins and free each region from Wario's influence. Mario and Carrot go through the Tree Zone and defeat the Big Bird guarding one of the Golden Coins. As Yoshi sends Mario gifts for liberating Dinosaur Land, they are soon joined by Yokkī, a sentient Yoshi Cookie. They then travel through the Turtle Zone, where they are helped by friendly Goombas and defeat the octopus. Following this, they go through the Mario Zone, facing off agiainst the zone himself (rigged by Wario) and the Three Little Pigheads. Then they go through the Macro Zone where they defeat the sewer rat with the help of the collector.

There are also two one-off stories: In one, Peach and the Koopa Troop, under her orders, hatch a plan to make Mario lose weight. In the other story, Mario and Yoshi try to save the Yoshis from a curse by adventuring through an RPG style adventure.

8 Super Mario Bros. 2 arc, which takes place after the first half of Volume 6's events and before Volume 4's: Wart takes over Subcon and, after kidnapping them from Bowser's Castle, challenges Mario, Luigi, Yoshi and Birdo to rescue the land. The four heroes travel through the worlds of Subcon, defeating Mouser, Tryclyde, Fryguy and Clawgrip along the way. Birdo dies trying to protect Yoshi, but is quickly replaced with Toad. The final battle against Wart proves itself to be extremely difficult however, as Wart is not sensitive to vegetables anymore and has the ability to mold. Eventually, Wart is defeated through the combined efforts of Mario, Luigi, Peach, Toad, Bowser, Birdo's sisters, Baby Yoshis, and Yoshi's dangerous hunger, but Bowser kidnaps Princess Peach again and the Mario Bros. return to Dinosaur Land to rescue her.

Second part of the Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins arc: Mario, Carrot and Yokkī go through the Pumpkin Zone and, guided by a friendly Boo, defeat the Witch.

There are also two one-off stories: an anticipation of Mario & Wario, in which Wario uses buckets to make Mario, Yoshi and Peach lose themselves in a forest, and another one based on Yoshi's Safari, in which Yoshi defeats enemies with his bazooka.

9 Yoshi's Safari arc: Mario, wanting to retire, is forced to join yet another adventure to stop the chaos afflicting the world by finding the three Crystal Mushrooms. Mario, Luigi, Yoshi and Birdo (reincarnated as a fairy) adventure though Dinosaur Land, fighting stronger versions of past enemies and finally finding the first Crystal Mushroom in the ruins of Bowser's old castle. After accidentally drifting off to another land, the heroes encounter Bowser who possesses the second Crystal Mushroom and steals the protagonists' as well. The next step in the journey is Jewelry Land, which has been turned into a mechanical land by Bowser. Using the Super Scope, Mario and Yoshi, the only characters to be unaffected by the mechanical virus, face Ludwig, King Blooper and finally Mecha Bowser himself. They recover the three Crystal Mushrooms and undo the curse on the world, revealing the Super Scope to be a transformed Prince Pine. Later, Bowser tries to get revenge on the heroes by trapping them in the Mario Bros. stage, against the Mecha Nokonoko.

First part of the Mario & Wario arc: While Peach is still under Bowser's guard, Wario throws a bucket on her head, revealing to Bowser that Luigi possesses the key to take it off. Bowser rushes to Mario's home at Yoshi's Island, only to learn that Mario himself has had a bucket thrown on him by Wario and that Luigi has been out for a walk. The fairy Wanda appears to help the heroes in their quest to find Luigi, but due to an unfortunate incident she ends up being merged with Bowser. Mario, Yoshi, Bowser and Wanda go through the Forest of Fairies and manage to take the bucket off Mario's head after it turned into an enemy. They then go through the Yoshi Lake, where they battle a monster made of eggshells dropped by Wario.

Third part of the Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins arc: Mario, Carrot and Yokkī are robbed of their five Golden Coins by Tatanga and chase him to the Space Zone, with the help of the Hippo statue. However, they are defeated in battle and fall back to Earth, but Bowser, disguised as Santa Claus, defeats Tatanga and gives Mario all six Golden Coins as a Christmas gift.

The volume concludes with a one-off story in which Wario and a Goomba go treasure hunting underwater.

10 Second part of the Mario & Wario: Mario, Bowser-Wanda and Yoshi finally find Luigi and run back at Bowser's Castle to free Peach, but are confronted by Wario donning Samus's Power Suit. Defeated, Luigi is turned into a key by Wario and Peach's bucket is lift off her head.

Fourth part of the Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins arc: Mario, Carrot and Yokkī, with the help of the Golden Coins power, defeats Wario, shrinking him into Mini Wario form, and shoo him away from the Mario Land.

In a bonus story, based on Yoshi's Safari, Mario is trapped by Roy in a flipper in the form of a ball, while Yoshi tries to help him get through it

First part of the Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 arc: Mario, Yoshi meet Chirako, whose island has been taken by Wario. While they head to stop him, Wario tries to freeze them with Tetris blocks. Once they arrive to the island, they discover the townfolks and Wario tied up: the Black Sugar Pirates trapped them after stopping by. The pirates attack Mario and Yoshi and, during the fight, Wario gets free and helps the heroes fight the pirates, deciding then to join forces to stop the pirates and stealing their treasure: a giant golden statue of Peach.

A special chapter, based on Super Mario All-Stars, conclude the volume: Mario, Luigi and Yoshi save Peach from Bowser, Wart and Wario, who force the heroes to pass through their deadly puzzles.

11 Second part of the Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 arc: Mario, Yoshi and Wario reach Kitchen Island, the alleged Pirate cove, and face against Spiked Koopa, Minotaur and Penkoon.

Donkey Kong '94: While buying clothes in Pauline's shop with Yoshi, Mario angers Donkey Kong, who kidnaps Pauline and locks her up at the top of a construction site. Mario and Yoshi, avoiding enemies and barrels, reach him and knocks him up with an hammer swing, but the key to Pauline's cage falls and gets buried under the debris cause by DK's fall to the ground.

First part of the Wario Woods arc: Wario and his monster conquer the Peaceful Woods and Wanda runs to Peach's Castle asking for help, so Mario, Yoshi, Luigi, Toad and Birdo go to help her. The heroes face Fauster, Boom and Goro

12 Third part of the Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 arc: Mario, Yoshi and Wario fight against the Devil's Head, Bobo, and the ghost. The latter one is defeated with the power of three Mario clones created with the Donkey Kong '94 bonus roulette and Luigi. After the three Mario clones sacrifice, the rest of the heroes reach Syrup Castle, where they face the Knight and the final battle against Captain Syrup and her Genie starts. Mario is then trapped in the Genie's lamp, where he fights against the defeated bosses of Kitchen Island, but he's rescued by Donkey Kong.

Second part of the Wario Woods arc: Mario, Luigi, Toad, Wanda and Birdo are now against Mad the mermaid, turned into a water demon, and Seizer.

Anticipation of the Donkey Kong Country arc: Mario and Yoshi, while flying over Donkey Kong Island with the Sky Pop, are shot down with a barrel by the Kongs. Cranky Kong, explains they mistook them with the Kremlings, the pirate crocodiles that are stealing the island's bananas. Mario, in exchange for a new plane, helps Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong to retrieve a banana hoard guarded by a Rock Kroc.

One last bonus chapter, sees Wario annoying his Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins' minions.

13 Fourth part of the Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 arc: Genie creates a powerful explosion that damages the castle, so Captain Syrup flee, leaving everyone else behind in the crumbling castle. Mario, Luigi, Yoshi and Wario, chased by the Genie, escape from the castle and finds the stolen Peach's golden statue but Syrup comes back and activates a secondary function of the castle, making it turn into a robot. While Wario tries to stop Syrup from getting away with the statue, Mario and his friends fight the castle. The castle is defeated, Syrup escape but Wario manages to retrieve the statue. Suddenly, the statue eats Mario, Luigi and Yoshi and disappears, leaving Wario alone with the Genie's lamp, which he uses to ask for a castle, but the Genie gives him a dog kennel instead.

Mario's Picross arc: Meanwhile, Mario and the others are taken by the statue into the future, where the Koopalings runs a Picross museum, in a timeline in which Bowser managed to win against Mario.

Third part of the Wario Woods arc: The heroes face against Drago, the Fake Warios and finally Wario, which accidentally fused himself with a tree.

Fierce battle!! Survival race edition: Peach has prepared a survival race. Mario, Luigi and Yoshi intend to participate, and so do Bowser, Wario and DK. During the race, in which each participant uses every possible tactics to win.

The last chapter is a collection of puzzles based on the final act of Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3, with Mario, Yoshi and Wario traversing Syrup Castle, defeating the Genie and getting their own castle.

14 First part of the Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island arc: Mario and Luigi are enjoying Yoshi's childhood album, in which he once helped a young Mario to reunite to Luigi and return home. Bowser also appears to create problems as usual, but suddenly he ends up in past to avoid that young Yoshi's mission to reunite the Mario Bros. works. Mario and Luigi follows him with a Time Barrel and ends up in Yoshi's Island of the past and ally with young Yoshi and Baby Mario, while Bowser allies with Kamek. In the volume, the heroes fight against Burt the Bashful and Froggy.

First part of the Donkey Kong Country arc: Mario and Yoshi crashes on Donkey Kong Island where the Kremlings are stealing all the bananas in the island. The Kong, asking Mario for help, decide to take their island and their bananas back. Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, Mario and Yoshi, after facing Very Gnawty, Master Necky and Dumb Drum.

The 4-komas are based on Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest: Diddy Kong and Dixie Kong explores the dangerous Crocodile Isle to rescue DK. Dixie is constantly pulling Diddy out of troubles while he doesn't even acknowledges them.

15 Second part of the Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island arc: Yoshi, Mario, Luigi and Baby Mario face off against Sluggy the Unshaven and Bowser, which is turned into a Baby by Baby Mario after the explosion of a POW Block. Kamek then turns Bowser into a giant, but the combined forces of Baby Mario and Baby Luigi, Bowser is defeated and the timeline saved.

Second part of the Donkey Kong Country arc: The party fights against Master Necky Snr. and boards the Gangplank Galleon where they face the Kremling King: King K. Rool.

Anticipation of the Super Mario 64 arc: Luigi has got a Nintendo 64 with a copy of Super Mario 64 and Mario, Luigi and Yoshi have fun with all the new game mechanics.

First part of the Super Mario 64 arc: Mario is invited by Peach at her castle for a party, but once there, Mario discovers that Bowser has conquered the castle to make it the new base for his minions. With the help of Toad and a Bob-omb Buddy, Mario starts his hunt for the Power Stars; the source of Peach's Castle's power and the only thing that can keep the minions away. In this volume, Mario and his friends go in Bob-omb Battlefield, Whomp Fortress, Hazy Maze Cave and Jolly Roger Bay, fighting against the Big Bob-omb (who becomes their ally), King Whomp and the Unagi.

The 4-komas are based on Mario Kart 64.

16 Second part of the Super Mario 64 arc: Mario and Bob-omb Buddy traverse the Shifting Sand Land, join forces Yoshi in Big Boo's Haunt, defeats Bowser's submarine in Dire, Dire Docks and fight Bowser in Bowser in the Fire Sea and the Chill Bully in Snowman's Land. The heroes then take a break from hunting Power Stars for a quick Mario Kart race with Bowser, Wario, Toad and Luigi. In Lethal Lava Land, Mario fights against the Big Bully. In Cool, Cool Mountain he helps Tuxie, the Headless Snowman, and has a race with the Big Penguin. On their way to Bowser in the Sky, Mario loses his cap in Rainbow Ride and the party go look for it, having discovered that it is magical. Bowser is finally reached and defeated, and Peach is freed. 17 Third part of the Super Mario 64 arc: Peach is strangely still missing, and Mario, Luigi, Toad, Yoshi and Bob-omb Buddy look for her in Tall, Tall Mountain, Tiny-Huge Island and other areas they have been already to, plus the Koopa Troop's flea market and a dump of enemies based on items (like the Moneybag and the Mad Piano). Mario later find himself trapped in the mirror world, where he is harassed by his and his friends mirror copies.

First part of the Mario Kart 64 arc: Mario, Luigi, Toad, Yoshi, Wario and Bowser have a kart race to see which one is the number one. The characters race on Royal Raceway, Choco Mountain, Bowser's Castle, DK's Jungle Parkway (where they are joined by DK), Koopa Troopa Beach, Banshee Boardwalk, and a snowed Kalimari Desert.

18 Fourth part of the Super Mario 64 arc: Mario, Luigi and Yoshi are about to re-enter Bowser in the Sky, but Yoshi eats all the collected Power Stars, forcing the group to take another pack of Stars from Tick Tock Clock and Rainbow Ride. Reaching Bowser, Mario notices that things are too familiar and Bowser reveals his trump card: he did lose before and Peach was free, but he simply turned off the game before saving and now he's cancelling the save files, nullifying the whole adventure. Bowser has won, Mario, Luigi and Yoshi are back at the start and Peach's Castle is now the cove of Bowser's minions. Slowly but steadily, Mario takes back the castle from the minions, even managing to bring some of them on his side and, with the help of other friends, the castle is now minion-free. Now, all that is left to do is save Peach.

Second part of the Mario Kart 64 arc: The characters race through Yoshi Valley, Rainbow Road, Sherbet Land and the race is over, but it is a tie, so Peach suggest to declare the winner after a Battle Mode.

19 Fifth part of the Super Mario 64 arc: Time for the last and definitive battle between Mario and Bowser. Bowser starts by using the Yoshi's Safari's mecha, then uses his troops against Mario, which uses his own troop, made out of the enemies he befriended during the adventure. Bowser is defeated and Mario can finally enjoy Peach's cake.

First part of the Yoshi's Story arc: In the past, Baby Bowser stole the Super Happy Tree from the Yoshis, but suddenly the island turned into a book. In the present, Mario, Luigi and Yoshi find the book where once stood Yoshi's Island and Mario is sucked in, and helps the colorful Team Chibi Yoshi in retrieving the Super Happy Tree from Baby Bowser and restore the island. In this volume, the group finds Poochy and fights against Bone Dragon, Cloud N. Candy, and Slug.

21 Special chapter of the Yoshi's Story arc: This is a short version of the previous arc, facing other enemies that were not shown in the previous volumes. In the final battle, Mario fights Baby Bowser in a minigame: Bumper Balls.

First part of the Mario Party arc: While on a picnic with Peach and Toad, Mario, Wario, Yoshi, Luigi and DK start arguing on who is the best hero of them all. After they all defeat Giant snake, Toad suggest to test their worth with minigames. Meanwhile, Bowser decide to interfere on the minigames. The only board visited in the volume is DK's Jungle Adventure. The minigames played are: Buried Treasure, Limbo Dance, Hammer Drop, Crazy Cutter, and Bash 'n' Cash.

22 Second part of the Mario Party arc: The characters challenge themselves on Peach's Birthday Cake, Wario's Battle Canyon and Yoshi's Tropical Island. Mini-games included in these chapters are Hammer Drop, Coin Block Bash, Piranha's Pursuit, Tightrope Treachery, Crane Game, Key-pa-Way, Desert Dash, Balloon Burst, Treasure Divers, Running of the Bulb, and Cast Aways.

Wario Land II: On their way to the next board, the party arrives at Wario's Castle, where all the rooms are flooded by the Black Sugar Gang.

Mario Golf: Mario, Luigi and Yoshi are enjoying a quiet golf match, until Big Kamukamu eats their balls and hides at the bottom of the water obstacle.

In the first bonus chapter Mario, Luigi, Yoshi and Bowser play a Jumanji-like board game where they are forced to follow instructions given by a screen.

The second bonus chapter is based of the Donkey Kong Country TV show, in which Donkey Kong and their family protects the Crystal Coconut from King K. Rool's clutches.

23 Third part of the Mario Party arc: Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Toad and Wario reach the Bowser's Magma Mountain board, having other minigames battle on their way (Bombs Away and Hot Rope Jump). Bowser steals the party's Stars and try to stop them with a Ztar, but it ends up helping them, being tired of being mistreated by Bowser. To win, Bowser eats all the Star collected by the heroes, but the Ztar power-ups Mario that defeats Bowser and obtain the title of Superstar. After celebrating, Bowser takes over Mario's Rainbow Castle, so one last match begins.

The first bonus story is based on Mario Golf: One of the holes is occupied by a Monty Mole family, and Mario, Luigi, Toad and Yoshi have to fight them. Then, at the next course, the different enemies keep stealing or deviating the protagonist's shots.

The second bonus story is based on Donkey Kong 64 and the Donkey Kong Country TV show: Candy Kong challenges DK and Bluster Kong in a race on which they need to get her the photo of the first sunset of 2000. They both head to the mountains to have a good photo, but they are ambushed by the Kremlings.

The last chapter is an anticipation of the Mario Party 2 arc: Bowser Land gets replaced by the Mario Land, but Peach, Luigi, Wario and Yoshi starts arguing with Mario to have the land named after them. While Bowser retakes it back, Toad calms the heroes down and declare the start of a new Mario Party to declare the name of the land.

24 Mario Party 2 arc: Mario creates the Mario Land, full of funny and thematic boards, but his friends wants the land to be named after them. During their arguing, Bowser takes the land over, so Toad starts a Mario Party to defeat Bowser and declare who should have the land named after. The board visited are Western Land, Horror Land, Mystery Land, Pirate Land, and Space Land. During the last minigame (Hammer Slammer), Yoshi destroys the entire Land with the rocket, so Mario happily gives the land to him.

Mario Tennis: Mario interrupts the Mario Party to duel at tennis with Bowser's new minion: Waluigi.

Two bonus chapters based on the Yoshi series game, Mario and Yoshi go and visit the Team Chibi Yoshi and help them fight Naval Piranha and Baby Bowser from using the river as his personal pool.

Anticipation of the Paper Mario arc: Bowser stole the Star Rod and he's become invincible. With the help of Goombario, Mario embarks on a new adventure.

25 First part of the Paper Mario arc: Bowser steals the Star Rod from the Star Spirits to become invincible and finally win against Mario. After stealing Peach's Castle with her inside, Mario is tossed down the flying castle and ally with Goombario to free the Star Spirits from Bowser's minions' clutches. After defeating the Goomba King, the duo meets Kooper. The three defeat the Koopa Bros., Tutankoopa, the Bloopers and (with the help of Lady Bow) Tubba Blubba.

The first bonus chapter is based on Wario Land 3: Mario and Wario, after crash-landing with the Bulldog, find themselves inside the music box world and, after defeating Wormwould, they manage to get out.

The second bonus chapter is based on Mario Tennis: Mario and Yoshi challenge Bowser and Waluigi on the Bowser Stage.

26 Second part of the Paper Mario arc: Mario, Goombario and Kooper stops, with the help of Watt, the General Guy's army, then the three heads to the next location, making a stop in Super Mario Advance, fighting against the new enemies: Big Shy Guys and Robirdo. The trio then helps Parakarry in a fight against some Paragoomba bullies. The heroes then defeats Lava Piranha (with the help of Sushie) and Huff N. Puff (with the help of Lakilester and also Wario, Luigi and Yoshi, advertising their own new games). Meanwhile, Peach find an ally in Twink and message to Mario through him.

Anticipation of the Luigi's Mansion arc: Luigi won the lottery and is now the owner of a big mansion. The villa is revealed to be haunted by ghosts and Boos. Luigi finds a vacuum and uses against them. He also finds out that Bowser transformed Mario into a painting, but while fighting him, Bowser is revealed to be King Boo.

The bonus chapter is based on Mario Kart: Super Circuit.

The other three bonus chapter is a different retelling of the Paper Mario arc in which Mario and Goombario fight a Magikoopa after they are contacted by Twink and then fight the Koopa Bros and Bowser with the help of Bombette and Kooper.

27 Third part of the Paper Mario arc: After saving the last Star Spirit from the Crystal King, Mario, Goombario and Kooper are ready for the final battle. Meanwhile, Peach finds an ally in Twink, asking him to guide Mario through Bowser's Castle. While Mario, Kooper, Goombario, Peach and Twink are fighting Kammy Koopa and Bowser, Lakilester, Watt, Sushie and Parakarry, collect Star Pieces back on Earth to power-up Mario, only to be stolen by Jr. Troopa. After defeating him, they all reach Mario at Bowser's Castle and all beat Bowser.

First part of the Mario Party 3 arc: The Millennium Star crash-lands in front of Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Peach and Wario to declare a new Superstar in a new Mario Party, helped and judged by Tumble. The boards visited are Woody Woods, Deep Bloober Sea, Spiny Desert, and Chilly Waters; the minigames played are Hand, Line and Sinker, and Hide-and-Sneak.

28 Second part of the Mario Party 3 arc: After almost getting robbed of their Star Stamps by Waluigi, the heroes continue their journey for the Superstar. The Millennium Star finally tests Mario in one final challenge that he passes. The minigames played are Ice Rink Risk, Snowball Summit, Stardust Battle.

First part of the Super Mario Sunshine arc: Mario and Peach take a vacation on Isle Delfino. Yoshi and Luigi follow them on the plan, but Mario saws it in half, crashlanding with Peach on a remote beach of the Isle. Mario gets attacked by Piranhabon and he is saved by a Pianta that gets mad at him and cages him. The Piantas explains that a hooligan that looks just like Mario has defaced the island with paint and goop, bringing with him some monsters. Mario, with the help of a hydro-machine, FLUDD, decides to clear his name by stopping this hooligan: Shadow Mario.

Wario Land 4 arc (which interrupts a Paper Mario side-story): Wario, followed by a Black Cat and the Mad Scienstein, explores the Golden Pyramid to find Princess Shokora's treasure. Guided by a captured Hoggus, Wario defeats the bosses and the Golden Diva, saving with this the treasures and the ugly Princess Shokora.

29 Second part of the Super Mario Sunshine arc: Mario and FLUDD explores Bianco Hills, defeat Petey Piranha twice and finds Yoshi, scared of Shadow Mario. In a side-story, Bowser tries to sabotage Mario and Peach flight, but the Star Spirits and the Paper Mario's allies stops him. The chapter is followed up by a recap of the beginning of the game, in which Mario defeats the Proto Piranha in Delfino Plaza.

Luigi's Mansion arc: Luigi has won a mansion to a lottery he never participated in. In the mansion, Luigi is attacked by ghosts but he is saved by Professor E. Gadd, a ghost hunter scientist that he is studying the palaces ghosts and Boos that kidnapped Mario, early that day. Accompanied by Toad, Luigi explores the mansion, defeating the ghosts in search of his brother. The ghost fought are Neville, Lydia, Chauncey, The Floating Whirlindas (which avoid being sucked), Mr. Luggs, Spooky, Bogmire, Miss Petunia (who just get frozen) and Vincent Van Gore. After finding Mario, Luigi and Toad discover that Bowser is behind this, but while fighting him, it's revealed to be a robot controlled by King Boo. However, after defeating King Boo, all his magic disappears: Mario's prison and the mansion.

30 Third part of the Super Mario Sunshine arc: After helping Toadsworth enjoying the Christmas season, Mario, FLUDD and Yoshi fight Gooper Blooper twice in Ricco Harbor, have a time surfing Blooper Racers, defeat the Plungelo and the Wiggler in Gelato Beach, saving the Sand Bird, has a forced race with Il Piantissimo.

In the bonus chapter, Mario re-explores the joys of Super Mario Bros. 3 in the new Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3, to save Luigi, turned in a Cobrat by Larry.

32 Fifth part of the Super Mario Sunshine arc: After defeating Eely-Mouth, helping Gooper Blooper return to shape, and taming the Chain Chomps, Mario and FLUDD fight Bowser and Bowser Jr. on top of their floating bathtub, where Peach is held hostage. After defeating the Koopas, Mario, Peach and their friends properly enjoys the vacation, returning home riding a giant parrot.

First part of the Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door arc: Peach invites Mario to a treasure hunt in Rogueport with a map she bought and sent to him. With that, Mario arrives in Rogueport, where he is already in trouble when a Goomba named Goombella uses him as a human shield against the secret society of the X-Nauts. Goombella joins Mario in his adventure and they decide to get ahead, not having found Peach anywhere. The Map tells them to look for the Crystal Stars in specific locations: in the Petal Meadows they find a new partner, Koops, and find the first Star in Hooktail Castle, in Boggly Woods, Mario allies with Madame Flurry to enter the Great Tree.

33 Second part of the Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door arc: With the help of Flurrie, Mario, Goombella and Koops enter the Great Tree and obtain the second Crystal Star from Lord Crump and his robot. Winter comes and Flurrie goes in hibernation. After almost losing the Star to a troup of X-Nauts, the group's next stop is Glitzville, where they discover the Crystal Star on the Stadium's Champ's Belt. The group enters the competion and (helped by Mini-Yoshi) they beat the different team and the champion Rawk Hawk. However, the stadium manager Grubba accidentally discover the Crystal Star power and is transformed into a monster. After defeating him, the party's next stop is in Twilight Town, where a curse is upon the citizen by the trickster Doopliss that accidentally swaps bodies with Mario after they headbonk each others.

In the bonus chapter, Yoshi fight against Bowser in Toad Town, only to discover that he was Kammy Koopa in disguise.

Mario vs. Donkey Kong arc: DK, having fallen in love with the Mini-Mario toys, but unable to buy them anywhere, steals them from the factory. Mario and Toad chase him, rescuing the toys that help them defeating DK.

34 Third part of the Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door arc: The X-Nauts and Vivian got the order to kill Mario, but being a fan of Mario, Vivian keeps sabotaging the mission. After finding Mario Cap from the sewers, the group put together a crew, including the great Admiral Bobbery, to find the next Crystal Star at Keelhaul Key. After defeating Cortez and Lord Crump, Mario obtains the fifth Crystal Star. After stopping the Smorg on the Excess Express, Mario's party arrives in Poshley Heights where Vivian's sisters are fought for the Crystal Star. With the help of Bowser (that looked for Mario in each of the previous chapters) the Sirens are defeated. Mario then goes to the Moon with Koops and Goombella to find the last Crystal Star in the X-Naut Fortress, where the Magnus von Grapple 2.0 is fought. 35 Fourth part of the Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door arc: By the Door, Mario and his friends find Bowser telling them that the X-Nauts took Peach inside. But once inside the door, in the dark Palace of Shadow, Mario discover that it was trap set by the X-Naut leader, disguised as Bowser: Sir Grodus. By the time the real Bowser arrives, Grodus unleashes on them Gloomtail and uses Peach (which he kidnapped) to summon the soul of the Shadow Queen. Meanwhile, Luigi joins forces with Miss Mowz to stop some enemies from invading the Palace of Shadow with the power of badges. Meanwhile, Yoshi and Toad collects Star Pieces to grant a wish. With their help and the Crystal Stars', Mario, Bowser, Goombella and Koops defeats the Shadow Queen, saving Peach and the world. While looking for a way out from the Palace, the group is joined by Luigi and fights against the Beard Queen.

First part of the Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time arc: Once upon a time, in the Mushroom Kingdom, back when Mario, Luigi, Peach and Bowser were babies, the Shroob aliens invaded them. The Peach from the future, while visiting the past with E. Gadd's latest invention, is kidnapped by the Shroobs, so Mario and Luigi, followed by Stuffwell (another of E. Gadd's creations) goes in the past and ally with their baby counterpart to save Peach and the past from the aliens. After learning that Baby Peach's castle is now the new base of the Shroob, they discover that E. Gadd's time machine fuel, the Cobalt Star could open a way in the castle. The boss fought are Junior Shrooboid and Swiggler.

The bonus chapter is based on New Super Mario Bros.: Mario and Luigi enjoys the new power-ups that the new games offers them, while they go on a quest to save Peach from Bowser and Bowser Jr.

36 Second part of the Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time arc: after getting eat by Yoob, Mario, Luigi and the Babies recovers the two Cobalt Star pieces from Baby Bowser's mouth. From Petey Piranha's mother they recover a third piece. After defeating the Commander Shroob and the Piranha Planet for the fourth and fifth pieces, it is time to face the Shroob Castle. One last chapter sees the Marios having trouble with a shapeshifting Tanoomba.

Three bonus chapters are based on the New Super Mario Bros. minigames: Mario and Luigi are having a competition and decide to settle it in a game of Mario vs. Luigi, getting out the worst of them.

The last bonus chapter is an anticipation on Wario: Master of Disguise, that will be fully explored in Ore Dayo! Wario Dayo!!: Wario enters the TV and challenges Count Cannoli in a thievery match.

37 Third part of the Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time arc: Mario, Luigi, Baby Mario and Baby Luigi can now enter the Shroob Castle. After UFO battle and a fight against the Princess Shroob's Chain Chomp, Peach is freed, but the alien princess put the last piece of the Cobalt Star with the rest, freeing her older sister (previously trapped in the star by Peach). While the Marios fight the two princesses, in the present, Toadsworth, his younger self, Baby Peach and E. Gadd defeat a Shroobsworth with the help of Perry. The Shroobs are defeated and everyone returns to their own time. The last chapter sees Baby Bowser eating the Shroob Mushroom the princesses left behind, becoming Shrowser.

First part of the Super Paper Mario arc: Someone kidnapped Peach and the Mario brothers blame Bowser, but he's innocent this time. The kidnapper is a villain from another dimension: Count Bleck, who wants to marry Bowser and Peach to create the Chaos Heart and destroy all the universes. While Bleck takes away Bowser, Luigi and the Koopa Troop, leaving Mario behind, he is reached by Tippi the Pixl, naming him the first hero of the prophecy that will destroy the Chaos Heart with the power of the Pure Hearts. With Tippi, Mario visits Lineland, Merlee's Mansion, The Bitlands and Outer Space, obtaining 5 Pure Hearts, finding Bowser, and fighting against O'Chunks, Fracktail, Mimi, Francis and Mr. L (which is revealed to be a brainwashed Luigi, which then joins Mario, Bowser and Tippi)

Anticipation of the Super Mario Galaxy arc: Mario and Toad are hired by Rosalina to collect Power Stars in the galaxies, fighting new enemies and using many new power-ups.

38 Second part of the Super Paper Mario arc: Mario, Luigi, Bowser and Tippi are reached by Peach (who has found two Pure Hearts in the Land of the Cragnons and the Sammer's Kingdom) while they are fighting Bonechill in The Overthere, obtaining the last Pure Heart. While fighting Count Bleck, Tippi is revealed to be his lost fianceé, which was made disappear by Bleck's father, making him plunge in the dark thought that no one should suffer the loss of his own loved ones like this, reason why he wanted to destroy the worlds and spare them from such agony. Bleck stops his plan, but his minion Dimentio steals the Chaos Heart to remodel the worlds after him, but Mario and his friends destroy him and the Chaos Heart, while Tippi and Bleck live their happy ending.

First part of the Super Mario Galaxy arc: During the Star Festival, Bowser literally eradicates Peach's Castle with her inside with UFO fleet. Mario tries to rescue her, but he is launched into space. Mario gets depressed and tired of all this unchanged routing of him saving Peach from Bowser every three second, but Rosalina and her Lumas make him regain trust and he accept to help them refuel their Comet Observatory with Power Stars and reach Bowser. During his quest, Mario visits Gateway Galaxy, Good Egg Galaxy, Honeyhive Galaxy and Space Junk Galaxy; he fights Dino Piranha, King Kaliente, Kamella and Tarantox. Mario also finds Luigi multiple times, but for one reason or another, he is launched from a galaxy to another.

39 Second part of the Super Mario Galaxy arc: While Luigi is launched between galaxies, Mario explores Battlerock Galaxy, Beach Bowl Galaxy, Ghostly Galaxy (where Luigi is finally rescued), Gusty Garden Galaxy and Freezeflame Galaxy. He also fights Bouldergeist, Major Burrows and Baron Brr.

40 Third part of the Super Mario Galaxy arc: Mario and Luigi explores Dusty Dune Galaxy and collect the last Power Star that Bowser Jr. attempts to steal. With Polari turning into a Grand Star, the Comet Observatory reaches Bowser's Galaxy Reactor. After an intense battle, Mario wins and Bowser is defeated. Back to Earth, the Star Festival continues with the participation of all of the friends Mario made during the adventure, when suddenly Kingfin appears, but he is stopped by the Toads.

First part of the Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story arc: Fawful, a mad scientist from Beanbean Kingdom, attempts to conquer the Mushroom Kingdom to awake the Dark Star and use its dark powers. To do so, he spreads a Toad disease and trick Bowser into eat a special Mushroom that makes him inhale everything, including Mario, Luigi, Peach and Starlow. With the Mario Bros. enhancing's Bowser physical strength from inside without him knowing, Bowser decides to stop Fawful. They fight against Midbus, Scutlet, Wiggler and Broque Monsieur.

To celebrate the 40th volume, Yukio Sawada decides to re-publish his first oneshot manga of Mario: Super Mario Bros..

41 Second part of the Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story arc: Bowser, Mario and Luigi fight against Bowser's Castle and Kretin, but Fawful finally get his hand on the Dark Star and fuses himself to it. Bowser inhales the star, but it absorbs the Koopa's DNA, becoming Dark Bowser. After fighting the Bowser Memory ML, Mario and Luigi are ready for the final battle. Bowser destroys the Dark Bowser, while the Mario Bros. destroy the Dark Star Core, undoing all of Fawful's evil, curing all the Toads, while Bowser spews out all the people he sucked in.

First part of the New Super Mario Bros. Wii arc: It's Peach's birthday. Bowser Jr. and his siblings, the Koopalings, enters the castle and kidnap Peach. Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Blue Toad and Yellow Toad chase them, fighting each one of the Koopalings. In the volume, Larry, Roy and Lemmy are fought.

The last chapter comprises of a photo collection of Yukio Sawada and his friends playing New Super Mario Bros. Wii, getting in each others' way.

After looking for him for 8 worlds, the heroes face against a gigantic Bowser, but they manage to win. While returning home with some hot-air balloon, Luigi and Yoshi ends up in World 9, where they save the citizen from a King Bill.

First part of the Super Mario 3D Land arc: A Tanooki Tree grows in Peach's garden and the next day, Peach is kidnapped by Bowser. With the help of the Super Leaves from the tree, Mario fights the Koopa Troop, accompanied by Toad. Bowser, in meanwhile, does experiments with his the Super Leaf.

45 Second part of the Super Mario 3D Land arc: Mario and Toad defeat the Tail Bowser and Boom Boom, along side many other new enemies. Meanwhile, Luigi escapes his prison and reach Mario.

The first bonus chapter is based on Mario Tennis Open: Mario and Toad help Yoshi to beat Bowser (in actuality Yukio Sawada in disguise) at tennis.

The second bonus chapter is based on Mario Kart 7: Mario and his friends race on the new tracks with the new mechanics included in the series (underwater section, interchangeable kart parts and gliders).

First part of the New Super Mario Bros. U arc: Bowser Jr. and the Koopalings conquers Peach's Castle and launch away Mario, Luigi, Blue Toad and Yellow Toad to Acorn Plains. While Peach's castle is transformed into a lava fortress by the Koopas, Mario and his friends try to return to the Castle and stop them. Yoshi also joins, but he helps them through the Boost Blocks.

First part of the Super Mario 3D World arc: Toad finds a clear pipe in the ground and from it a Sprixie Princess asks Mario, Luigi, Toad and Peach for helping them get rid of Bowser, which has kidnapped her Sprixie sisters. Bowser appears and kidnaps the Sprixie Princess, who suggests that Mario use the power-ups that came out from the pipe to defeat the Koopa. Mario and his friends chase Bowser to the Sprixie Kingdom, meet Plessie, and defeat the Koopa Chase and Boom Boom.

Super Mario Maker: Mario and Luigi create levels, but suddenly Bowser traps them inside his dangerous level creation.

First part of the Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars arc: To celebrate the 50th volume release, the story is told as a "Choose your adventure" game: while Mario is rescuing Peach from Bowser as usual, a giant sword falls down from the sky, destroying the Star Road and sticking itself in Bowser's Castle, launching everywhere who was inside. Mario learns that the sword, Exor, is a portal from a dimension in which the Smithy Gang lives, an organization that aims to destroy world peace and people wishes through violence and weapons. Mario allies with Mallow, Geno, Bowser and Peach and together they defeat Mack, Bowyer, Punchinello and Booster.

Paper Mario: Color Splash arc: Mario, Peach and Toad visit Prism Island after getting to know that someone is stealing the color from the Toads: it is the Koopalings and Black Bowser. Helped by the Island protector, Huey, Mario face off against the Koopalings, Petey Piranha and Black Bowser.

First part of the Super Mario Odyssey arc: Bowser has kidnapped Peach to force her into marry him, so Mario chase after them accompanied by Cappy the brother of Peach's wedding tiara, which can give Mario the power to possess the enemies.

55 Third part of the Super Mario Odyssey arc: Mario, Cappy, Luigi, and later Yoshi, visits Luncheon Kingdom, Lost Kingdom and the Moon Kingdom and fight Cookatiel, Madame Broode and Bowser, stopping his wedding. Furious, Bowser kicks the ground so hard that him, Mario, Cappy, Luigi and Peach falls in the center of the Moon, where Cappy falls on Bowser, and Mario takes over his body and flee with his friends out of danger. Bowser is stopped, but Cappy's sister, Tiara, is yet to be rescued, so Mario and Cappy collect more Power Moons.

Super Mario Party arc: With Bowser now officially invited in a Mario Party, everything goes downhill, since the Koopa is always cheating. The minigames played are Smash and Crab, Off the Chain, Pie Hard, Trike Harder, Don't Wake Wiggler!, Slaparazzi, Social Climbers, Making Faces and Tall Order.

56 First part of the Luigi's Mansion 3 arc: Mario and his friends were invited to spend a weekend of relax at The Last Resort Hotel, but it is revealed to be the trap of King Boo, that wants to hang Mario and his friends on his wall as paintings. Luigi and the painting-fied Mario manage to flee and, using E. Gadd's new Poltergust G-00 and helped by the Polterpup and Gooigi, they make their way in ghost infested rooms. They defeat Steward, Chef Soulfflé, King MacFrights, Ug, Serpci, Kruller, Dr. Potter and Clem.

Yoshi's Crafted World arc: While rewatching some old news of Yoshi's Island, Yoshi learns that the theft of the Sundream Stone was the work of Baby Bowser. He jumps inside the television, traveling through time and helps the Young Yoshis retrieve the Sundream Stone. They defeat Burt the Ball and The Tin-Can Condor.

Super Mario Maker 2: Mario and Luigi have fun with the new elements, but once again, Bowser traps them inside his insidious level.

Mario Tennis Aces: Mario and his friends challenge themselves at tennis until their rackets break.

57 Second part of the Luigi's Mansion 3 arc: Luigi, Gooigi, painting-fied Mario and the Polterpup defeat Amadeus Wolfgeist, Morty and King Boo.

First part of the Paper Mario: The Origami King arc: Toad Town is celebrating the Origami Festival, but when Mario and Luigi arrive into town, they find no Toads and Peach has been turned into a creepy origami. Soon Mario learns that the Origami King, King Olly, wants to conquer the Mushroom Kingdom, eliminate the Toads and covert the rest of the inhabitants into Origamis. Mario allies with Olly's sister Olivia to stop him. They fight against the Earth Vellumental, Colored Pencils and Rubber Band. They also meet Bobby, but he soon has to leave the party because he loses his voice after breaking a rock that fell on Oliva, with a scream.

Anticipation of the Bowser's Fury arc: Mario falls in a Not-Bottomless Hole and arrives at Lake Lapcat. Bowser Jr. pleads him to help him: Bowser has turned into a monster after touching a mysterious black goop. Mario, using the Lake's Giga Bell fights the gigantic Bowser.

A bonus chapter is based on Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit: Mario and Bowser Jr. have a kart race inside a very messy living room, where they are also chased by a cat.

The last few chapters celebrate the manga's 30th anniversary and have a special two-part story with Yukio Sawada as the protagonist.

58 Second part of the Paper Mario: The Origami King arc: Mario and Olivia explore Scorching Sandpaper Desert, the Great Sea, Shangri-Spa, Bowser's Castle and the Origami Castle, fighting off against Hole Punch, Tape, Boss Sumo Bro, Handaconda, Scissors and Stapler. Lastly is King Olly, which reaveals his hatread for the Toads is because his creator, a Toad, scibbled on him. During the fight, Bobby returns with a Magic Circle from Olly's creator, revealing also that the scribble is actually a heartwarming sentence adressed to Olly. Feeling ashamed of his actions, Olly and Olivia take back his evil mistakes, returning the kingdom to its original glory.

Some bonus chapters sees Mario, the folded Bowser and Olvia take on the remaining Folded Soldiers and Paper Macho Soldiers, saving the Toads and fight against the Water Vellumental.

Bowser's Fury arc: Mario and Bowser Jr. try to stop Fury Bowser from taking over Lake Lapcat.

Mario Golf: Super Rush: Mario, Luigi, Yoshi and Bowser have a golf match. In the first chapter, Bowser tries to make Mario fail with the help of his minions; in the second one, the group make use of everyone's special ability during Golf Rush to reach their respective ball first.

59 Mario Strikers: Battle League arc: Team Mario (Mario, Luigi, Toad and Yoshi) and Team Bowser (Bowser, Donkey Kong, Wario and Boom Boom) clash themselves in a Strike tournament. Later in the game, a Shy Guy joins Team Mario, and following stories see Mario helping out his foes as well.

Mario Party Superstars arc: In honor of their first Mario Party, Toad brings Mario, Luigi, Peach and Yoshi to the same place where they first fight to obtain the title of Superstar. While initially happy, Mario and his friends soon grow tired of being suddenly summoned for a minigame every time. The minigames played are Face-Lift, Sneak 'n' Snore, Boulder Ball, Snowball Summit, Tube It or Lose It, Balloon Burst, Bowser's Big Blast, Pit Boss, Cast Aways, Monty's Revenge, and Dinger Derby.
