Peaches are fruit that appear in Mario games. They have had many different uses throughout its many appearances.

History

Super Mario Momotarō

A Peach of a giant size make its first appearance in the short anime film Super Mario Momotarō, Based on the Japanese fairy tale, Momotarō (literally, "Peach Boy"). A shooting star lands in front of Ojīsan and Obāsan, and when the light abates, it is revealed to be a giant peach, which then splits open and out pops a new born baby, Mario. Mario also ties a bandanna on his cap emblazoned with a peach on it. A rocket-powered airship that Mario, Parabeetle, Boomerang Bro and Spike board on also has a peach emblazoned on its sail.

Yoshi

Peaches make their first game appearance in Yoshi, they appear after the player clears level 12 and 13 of the B-Type game, rewarding the player 600 points.

Paper Mario series

Main article: Peachy Peach

A type of Peach known as Peachy Peach appear in Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door and Super Paper Mario.

Donkey Kong Jungle Beat

Peaches also appear in Donkey Kong Jungle Beat as the goal fruit that Donkey Kong eats at the end of every level in the Peach Kingdom.

Super Smash Bros. series

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl when Princess Peach uses her Final Smash, Peach Blossom, she summons thirteen small peaches which heal at 5% each. In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, she summons three large peaches which heal at 20% each. A giant Peach also appears in the Peach Blossum Trophy in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.

Peaches from the Animal Crossing series appear in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS in the Tortimer Island stage, which serve as recovery items which heals 5% each. Additionally in both Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U, one of the fruits the Assist Trophy, Isabelle can throw at players to heal them is a Peach from the same series. As Tortimer Island returns in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, peaches also return with the same purpose.

WarioWare series

WarioWare: D.I.Y.

Purple-colored peaches appear in WarioWare: D.I.Y in the microgame, Fruit Fans. The player can tap two real peaches while avoiding the fake peaches that look like the other two, but with some minor differences as the fake peach is actually a man's rear with the man clearly visible.

WarioWare Gold

Peaches make an appearance in WarioWare Gold in the returning microgame, Force Feeding exclusively in this version. It is one of the few fruit that fall into Wario's mouth. Peaches also appear in the returning microgame Fruit Fans only in the first difficulty where the player must tap three real peaches while avoiding the fake ones. The fake peaches are a pig's rear.

Nintendo Land

Peaches appear in Nintendo Land, in the attraction, Yoshi's Fruit Cart. It is one of the required fruits for the player's Yoshi Cart to eat to unlock a door and clear a level.
