Moving Fence
The title of this article is from the English Super Mario Bros. Encyclopedia which reportedly sourced some names from fan wikis. If a higher-priority source is found, then the current reference should be removed and the title moved to the higher-priority name, if applicable.
Moving Fences[1] are fence objects appearing in Super Mario Sunshine and New Super Mario Bros. 2. In Super Mario Sunshine, they initally appear to be stationary, square fences under Pianta Village. When hit, they begin to move along their path; when they reach their destination, they hang for a few moments and then drop. In New Super Mario Bros. 2, they appear as rectangular fences that move on tracks. One moves back and forth automatically, but most activate whenever the player grabs onto them and, like Super Mario Sunshine, drop at the end of their track. They alter their elevation on the track whenever the player hits them. They only appear in World 5-
Castle, where they are the basis of the level.
