How's Bowser's Health? is a side quest in Mario & Luigi: Brothership. In this quest, Mario, Luigi, and Starlow visit an injured Bowser on Wayaway Island.

The side quest becomes available after linking Jellyfish Island and expires after the second visit to Fortress Zokket. Clearing the side quest awards the Bowser Spikes.

Side quest

When Mario and Luigi return to Wayaway Island to obtain an engine part for Technikki's or Adaphne's Engine, they see Starlow floating towards the entrance to Bowser's Castle. When spoken to, she tells the Bros. that she wants to check on Bowser, and asks if they want to join her. Snoutlet thinks the idea is dangerous, but is still open to the offer. If Starlow is spoken to again, she asks if Mario and Luigi want to visit Bowser. If they say yes, Starlow flies into Bowser's Castle and will wait for the brothers by the entrance to Bowser's throne room. The Bros. must then talk to her again. Afterwards, Starlow announces her arrival to Bowser, and requests to let her in, as she has a "special get-well goody" for him. Bowser recognizes her voice and calls her "Chippy", remembering her from Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. Despite Bowser's protests, Starlow enters his room, with Mario and Luigi following.

Inside the throne room, Bowser is seated on his throne, still injured from his previous two battles against Mario and Luigi. When the Bros. enter the room, Bowser attempts to attack them, but is unable to do so due to being in bad condition. Starlow then gives him a spicy chicken, but Bowser tosses it aside and vows to have revenge after he is healed up and after Zokket's defeat. He then summons a group of his minions and Kamek to remove Mario, Luigi, and Starlow from his sight. The three flee, and a Goomba holds the chicken that was meant for Bowser. Noticing this, Bowser angrily chases after the Goomba to retrieve his gift. Now outside Bowser's throne room, Starlow is relieved that Bowser is healed up enough to be furious, and says goodbye to Mario and Luigi. The side quest is then complete.
