“We found a powerful one recently. A doubly dangerous variation! Marvelously mutated Helmet Zok Troopers! These monsters boast top-class ! They're the best! They've just snacked on their favorite 1-Up Mushrooms like good little things. I may, in fact, have given them too much. Now they won't stop multiplying! I'm worried they'll get out of control if they break free. Mind taking them down before they escape and go on a rampage? I'll have a special reward for you if you can do it!”

Monster Mania: Level 5 is a side quest in Mario & Luigi: Brothership. In this quest, Mario and Luigi must defeat a horde of Helmet Zok Troopers on Lottacoins Island.

Monster Mania: Level 5 becomes available after building Technikki's or Adaphne's Engine, and expires after defeating Reclusa. Clearing the side quest awards three 1-Up DXs and two Stache Beans.

Side quest

To begin the side quest, the Bros. must find Maniac No. 5 of the Monster Maniac Club, located on Lottacoins Island, on the rooftop of the large building. He tasks the brothers to defeat a swarm of enhanced Helmet Zok Troopers in a battle. If one of them is defeated, replacements will arrive if there is at least one remaining. If the Bros. win the fight, the Monster Maniac rewards Mario and Luigi before thanking and wishing goodbye to the Helmet Zok Troopers. He then sets out to find a stronger monster, and the side quest is complete.

• "There are fearsome monsters on Lottacoins Island. Someone on a roof there seeks a champion to defeat them!"
• "Destination: Lottacoins Island
  Go see the Monster Mania member."
• "The World Monster Mania Club researches unusual monsters and the special measures required to defeat them. You'll need your wits."
• "Destination: Lottacoins Island
  Defeat the enhanced Helmet Zok Troopers!"

Gossips' dialogue

The following quotes are from the gossips if they are spoken to while the side quest is available.

• Yellow gossip: "Say, you know about the dreadful monsters on Lottacoins Island, right?"
• Pink gossip: "Yeah, they say someone's looking for a hero or heroes to take them down."
• Blue gossip: "I bet they're really strong..."
• Yellow gossip: "We could go have a little chat with them...a chat with our fists!"
• Pink gossip: "Yeah, right. I think an actual chat is just about as much action as we can handle."
• All three: "We'll chat until they give up! Ohohohohohohoho!"

If the player speaks to them again, the above conversation is skipped and only one line of dialogue is said.
