Template:Galaxybox The Flipswitch Galaxy is a rather small galaxy having only one mission in the game Super Mario Galaxy. The Galaxy is composed of 18 Flipswitch Panels which Mario must step on. After all of them have been touched, a Power Star appears. The background is a scene from Super Mario Bros., as shown in the pictures. Even though the level sounds simple, a Sentry Beam spawns out circle shaped lasers which can damage Mario. Some Flipswitch Panels are also covered with moving spiked platforms that can hurt Mario.

Planets

NOTE: Unless otherwise marked, all names are unofficial.

The Starting Planet is the largest planet in the Flipswitch Galaxy and the only accessible one. It is covered in Flipswitch Panels (18 of them exactly) and several hazards such as spiked platforms and electrical barriers. The platforms and electrical barriers move around the planet creating hazards for Mario to dodge as he goes through them.

The only other resident of the planet is a Sentry Beam that releases laser shockwaves as Mario goes through the planet. Mario must flip all the Flipswitch Panels from blue to yellow and then, when they are all flipped, they will turn green. Once the Flipswitch Panels are green the laser-shooting Sentry Beam will turn into a trampoline and release a Power Star for Mario to get. The electric barriers and spiked platforms will also be deactivated.

Block Planets

Inaccessible Block Planets.

These breakable block planets are seen when Mario is flying to the galaxy and cannot be reached (except through hacking). These aren't really planets but rather Brick Blocks floating in space. These blocks tie in with the scenery as the level's background becomes that of a Super Mario Bros. game. Each of these blocks contain one coin.[1]

Mission

This Galaxy only has one mission. The objective of this mission is summarised in the below table.
