Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games[edit]

In the Wii version of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games, High Speed only appears in Dream Race, as one of eight items to be obtained from Item Boxes. In the Nintendo DS version, High Speed appears in Dream Long Jump, where they are instead referred to as Speed Boost.

This item has a different appearance compared to how it appeared in prior Sonic the Hedgehog titles, having a rounded nose instead of a pointed one, taller socks, and a thin stripe with a small buckle. Due to this, the item now bears a slight resemblance to Mario's shoes as well.

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games[edit]

High Speed returns as an item in Dream Events for both versions of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games, now under the name High Speed Shoes. High Speed Shoes appear as an item in every Dream Event except for Dream Figure Skating in the Wii version, while in the Nintendo DS version, High Speed Shoes only appear in Fever Hockey and Rocket Ski Jumping.

In the Wii U version of Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, Power Sneakers appear as an item in Duel Beach Volleyball, and in the Nintendo 3DS version, Power Sneakers appear in Boxing Plus, and as an effect in Football Plus, where they affect the whole team and are known as Speed Up items.

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020[edit]

In Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, High Speed[1] appears as an item in Dream Racing. The item grants its user a short boost in speed, similarly to Dash Mushrooms in the Mario Kart series.
