Fake Yoshis are Shy Guys disguising as Yoshi that appear in Yoshi's New Island. They appear in the level Inside the Outside and can be summoned by striking a Winged Cloud; when it is stricken, a Shy Guy appears and turns into a Fake Yoshi. The player can control the Fake Yoshi. The Pink Yoshi must then lead the Fake Yoshi into a spike pit. Once the Fake Yoshi falls on a spike, the Shy Guy reveals itself before being defeated. In its true form, it is shown to be white with green spots like Yoshi's egg.
