|The galaxy is unique in that in order for [[Mario]] or [[Luigi]] to advance, he will need to defeat every enemy on a planet. The enemies start easily with foes such as [[Goomba]]s, [[Urchin]]s, [[Li'l Cinder]]s, and [[Crabber]]s. However, the planets will get progressively more complex with enemies like [[Jack O'Goomba]]s, [[Boo]]s, [[Li'l Brr]]s, and [[Undergrunt]]s. | |The galaxy is unique in that in order for [[Mario]] or [[Luigi]] to advance, he will need to defeat every enemy on a planet. World 6, known in the file selection menu as World 6: Bowser in Your Sights or simply Bowser in Your Sights, is the sixth world featured in Super Mario Galaxy 2. This world contains a large, orange-red black hole and is located at the center of the universe. It holds seven galaxies, the last of which is Bowser's Galaxy Generator, which features the third and final encounter with Giant Bowser.
The music that plays in the background is a slowed-down rendition of the music that plays during the Bowser battles in the game.
Galaxies
# | Image | Galaxy | Description | Star(s) | Unlocking criterion |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Melty Monster Galaxy | This galaxy is completely covered in lava, with a magma tide that rises and falls every so often. The main obstacle here is the magma and its tide. As the name suggests, the most common enemies in the galaxy include giant lava monsters known as Magmaarghs and Magmaws. | Defeat Bowser Jr. in Bowser Jr.'s Boom Bunker. | ||
2 | Clockwork Ruins Galaxy | This galaxy takes place in a temple-like area with statues of many creatures. The galaxy includes new gimmicks such as rolling Millstones and walls that push the player out of the gravitational force. Pegs are also introduced in this level and are used to reach the Power Star. | Get a Star from Melty Monster Galaxy. | ||
3 | Throwback Galaxy | This galaxy is a redesigned Whomp's Fortress from Super Mario 64 and Super Mario 64 DS. The music is a jazzy arrangement of the original Super Mario 64 Main Theme, as the original version was also played on Whomp's Fortress. Although the course is generally identical, a few minor changes have been made. | Get 60 Stars, including one from Clockwork Ruins Galaxy. | ||
4 | Battle Belt Galaxy | The galaxy is unique in that in order for Mario or Luigi to advance, he will need to defeat every enemy on a planet. The enemies start easily with foes such as Goombas, Urchins, Li'l Cinders, and Crabbers. However, the planets will get progressively more complex with enemies like Jack O'Goombas, Boos, Li'l Brrs, and Undergrunts. | Get 65 Stars, including the first one from Throwback Galaxy. | ||
5 | Flash Black Galaxy | This galaxy takes place in a large mansion. However, everything is pitch black except for the occasional second of lightning, which temporarily lights up the area. In addition, many gaps are in the ground. Yoshi is found here and the level makes extensive use of the Blimp Fruit. Common enemies and obstacles here include Space Mines, Jack O'Goombas, and Flaptacks. | Get a Star from Melty Monster Galaxy, then feed the Hungry Luma on the World 6 map 1800 Star Bits. | ||
6 | Slimy Spring Galaxy | This level mostly takes place underwater. It makes extensive use of the Green Shell to move around underwater. Common enemies here include Snoodles, Urchins, and Boos. | Get the first Star from Flash Black Galaxy. | ||
7 | Bowser's Galaxy Generator | This is the final main galaxy in the game and where Bowser is fought for the final time. The galaxy uses elements from every part of the game, such as Snake Blocks and the Spin Drill. Yoshi will also be needed to bypass certain obstacles, but he cannot be used in the final battle.
The power-ups found here are the Cloud Flower, Blimp Fruit, Spin Drill, and Dash Pepper. The galaxy has many obstacles such as lava and electricity. Common enemies here include Magikoopas, Banzai Bills, Hammer Bros., Boomerang Bros., and Magmaarghs. Lumas are also found here, often cheering Mario on. |
Get 70 Stars, including one from either Battle Belt Galaxy or Slimy Spring Galaxy. |
