They closely resemble Gobblegut and behave similar to the Snorkel Snake as it will try to encircle players with its body.
A purple-colored version of the Dragoneel also exists. They are shorter and make tighter turns, but are significantly slower.
History
New Super Mario Bros. U
In New Super Mario Bros. U, Dragoneels are set to appear in the Sparkling Waters level, Dragoneel's Undersea Grotto. It follows the player throughout the underwater course, as the players must avoid his body. Throwing fireballs at its head will slow it down, but throwing them at its body will speed it up.
