The Mach 8 is a kart body appearing in Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. It resembles both a jet with a turbine-shaped grille in the front and the Formula One cars of the 1950s, having a color combination reminiscent of the blue and yellow OSCA Tipo G 4500 with a more intense blue color while sporting a yellow racing stripe and tailfin. Probably because of that, it is represented in the artworks of Mario Kart 8 with Slim tires.

The Mach 8 is good at speed and weight, but has below average acceleration and poor traction. The front and back of the body illuminate when the body goes into anti-gravity mode. The kart itself shares the same exact stats with the Sports Coupe, Circuit Special, Gold Standard, B Dasher, and P-Wing. The engine is supercharged, and it could be heard when the kart is moving.

CPU-controlled Luigi may occasionally use this vehicle body, often paired with the Slim tires. In fact, Luigi's main artwork also depicts him driving the Mach 8. In Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, CPU Yoshi is also seen occasionally using this body with the Slim tires. Breath of the Wild-style Link uses this vehicle as well but uses the Triforce Tires instead.

While the Mach 8 is a starting vehicle body in Mario Kart 8, in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, it must be unlocked by collecting coins. Its stats have also changed to slightly boosting weight and traction, while slightly lowering acceleration and handling. It shares stats with only the Sports Coupe and Inkstriker.

Luigi's Mach 8 appears as a Spirit in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.[1]
