Dash panel ramp trucks[1] are a type of vehicle obstacle in the Mario Kart series. They consist of large trucks that carry a ramp behind them, with a Dash Panel or a Glide Ramp at the end.
History[edit]
Mario Kart 8 / Mario Kart 8 Deluxe[edit]
In Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, dash panel ramp trucks resemble red vehicle transporters branded with Mario Automobile Association and Wario Motors logos. Two dash panel ramp trucks drive along with the other traffic on N64 Toad's Turnpike, both with Glide Ramps on them, but are removed during Battle Mode. If the player drives into the front or side of one of these trucks, they briefly flip over, and the truck may honk its horn at them. Although the trucks cannot be entirely removed, they can be briefly launched into the air if driven into from the front or side while using a Super Star or Bullet Bill or if hit by a Spiny Shell.
Unlike most other vehicle types, ramp trucks are immune to Super Horns. By using the Glide Ramp from a Dash panel ramp truck, drivers are able to glide over other vehicles, accessing ramps on top of some of the cargo trucks and buses. The ramp on the truck also includes a dash panel to boost their takeoff from the glide ramp, which can also be boosted by performing a trick off the top of the ramp, similar to the trucks carrying surfboards.
Mario Kart Tour[edit]
In Mario Kart Tour, stationary trucks appear on numerous courses, though they almost always have either a regular ramp or a dash panel ramp. The only course to feature a truck with a glide ramp is New York Minute 4. The glider truck in question does not have a dash panel like its Mario Kart 8 version.
Trucks with dash panel ramps appear on Wii Coconut Mall R/T, Wii Moonview Highway R/T, New York Minute T, New York Minute 2R/T, New York Minute 4, New York Minute 4R, Sydney Sprint T, and Amsterdam Drift R/T.
Trucks with regular ramps appear on GCN Mushroom Bridge R/T, Berlin Byways 3T, Berlin Byways 3R/T, Los Angeles Laps 2T, and Los Angeles Laps 2R/T.
Mario Kart World[edit]
Two types of dash panel ramp trucks are present in Mario Kart World, seen driving on various routes around the map. One type is a blue truck similar to its previous appearances in the Mario Kart series, while the other is a Yoshi's-branded green truck, shaped like a Yoshi. The Yoshi's-branded ramp truck also carries a Dash Food bag at the end of its ramp.
