Builder Mario is the form Mario takes in Super Mario Maker 2 after collecting a Hammer, a power-up found exclusively in the Super Mario 3D World style. It changes Mario and Luigi's attire to yellow shirts, colored overalls, a tool belt, and a hardhat (Toad and Toadette also gaining the latter two objects). It grants Mario and co. the ability to swing a large hammer to slam the environment and enemies alike. Unlike Hammer Mario, where the hammers are arched projectiles, Builder Mario uses them as a melee weapon. Builder Mario can also create a maximum of five crates at a time to be used as platforms.
Trivia
- Builder Mario's design comes from the Wrecking Crew series, where Mario also wears a helmet and attacks with a hammer. The helmet's appearance is similar to the one in Wrecking Crew '98.
