The Hylian Kite is a glider included in The Legend of Zelda × Mario Kart 8 downloadable content pack for Mario Kart 8. The glider appears to be cloth stretched over a wooden frame, bearing a red Wingcrest, with strings connecting it to the kart. The color scheme and pattern on the glider, as well as the name, seem to be based on the Hylian Shield. It shares its stats with the Peach Parasol, Bowser Kite, Flower Glider, Cloud Glider, Parachute, Parafoil, and MKTV Parafoil.
In Mario Kart 8 Deluxe it can be unlocked randomly by collecting coins, and it now offers no advantages or disadvanteges to the vehicle. It now only shares stats with the Super Glider and Waddle Wing. It is the signature glider Skyward Sword style Link and in both games a CPU Skyward Sword-style Link occasionally uses this glider paired with the Master Cycle and Triforce Tires.
