Ultra Nuts are consumables used by Mario and Luigi in the Mario & Luigi series. They restore Heart Points to both brothers during a single turn. In Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, they are replaced by Ultra Drops.

History

Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga / Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions

Nut

Ultra Nuts first appear in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, restoring 100 HP for both brothers. It can be bought from the Castle Town Item Shop after Princess Peach is kidnapped for 140 coins. Red Viruses have a 25.81% chance of dropping them when defeated and Jojora's friend is guaranteed to drop them.

In Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions, Ultra Nuts restore 65 HP for both brothers instead of 100 HP.

Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story / Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey

After their absence in Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, Ultra Nuts return in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. Unlike the previous installment, they restore 80 Heart Points, and are the last Nut that can be bought in stores. Alarm Bob-ombs and Stonks both have a 5% chance of dropping them upon defeat.

In Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey, Ultra Nuts restore 65 Heart Points for both brothers instead of 80.

Mario & Luigi: Dream Team

Ultra Nuts reappear in Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, although they restore 50 Heart Points instead of 80. They cost 225 coins to purchase from the shops after reaching Driftwood Shore. Certain enemies have a chance of dropping them after a battle: Boomerang Bros have a 5% chance, Hermite Crab Rs have a 5% chance, and Monolifts have a 2% chance.

Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam

Ultra Nuts in Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam use the same sprite as they did in Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, and heal 50 Heart Points.
