Whittle, Super Mario Galaxy 2

Tall Trunk Galaxy is one of the many galaxies in the game Super Mario Galaxy 2. The level takes place in a peaceful forest with a huge tree. The tree has many branches which can be climbed to reach the top. This galaxy introduces the Blimp Fruit. Many thorny flowers appear to hinder the player and Spoings are common enemies here. The Whittle species resides here.

Planets

Big Tree Planet

Mario approaching the Big Tree Planet.

The Big Tree Planet[1] is the starting planet in the galaxy. Here, the player will land on the base of an enormous tree. During the The Flotacious Blimp Fruit mission, Yoshi can be found on the bottom of the planet as well as numerous Crystals with Star Bits and coins. Spoings and Spranglers appear on the tree during the said mission and only a single Whittle appears. The use of Blimp Yoshi is required to reach the Launch Star. During the Tall Trunk's Big Slide mission, Yoshi is not found nor Spoings and Spranglers. The player will need to use the Flower Grapples to get to the top of the tree and to the Launch Star. A significant amount of Whittles can be found here during the said mission. It is possible to climb up the big tree without Yoshi by using different jumps, wall jumps, and spins.

Wood Drum Planet

Mario nearing the Wood Drum Planet.

The Wood Drum Planet[1] is a large log, and is the next site for the player to arrive from the Big Tree Planet during The Flotacious Blimp Fruit mission. Here, the player and Yoshi will move around the planet in side-scrolling effect to collect five yellow Star Chips and create another Launch Star. A Checkpoint Flag, a Comet Medal and some Blimp Fruit are also found on the planet. Thorny flowers can prove to be a nuisance when collecting the Star Chips. This planet has an up and down rotational gravity field, so Mario cannot fall off this planet.

Wood Circle Cut Planet

Mario quite a distance away from the Wood Circle Cut Planet.

The Wood Circle Cut Planet[1] is a huge section of a trunk with a passage in it where the player arrives. Here, the heroes find another Midway Flag, Star Bits and Blimp Berries. Just as in the Wood Drum Planet, the exploration in this planet is in a side-scrolling manner. In The Flotacious Blimp Fruit mission, there is a Power Star that Mario must get by going up in the passage with the help of Yoshi eating the Blimp Fruits, while evading some obstacles such as the Paragoombas and thorny flowers.

Tube Slider Start Planet

The Tube Slider Start Planet[1] is a grassy platform on top of a large tree, connected to a giant, half-hollowed log where three Whittles and the access to the Tube Slider Course are found.

Tube Slider Course

The Tube Slider Course[1] is a long, winding hollow trunk. Wigglers and thorny flowers can be found here. There are a few Spinies in the beginning and many gaps in the slide, as well as many Balloons scattered throughout. This planet is first visited in the galaxy's second mission, Tall Trunk's Big Slide. At the end of the slide, the player will land on the Tube Slider Goal Planet, and be rewarded with a Power Star, depending on the mission's requirements.

Tube Slider Goal Planet

The Tube Slider Goal Planet[1] is found directly at the end of the Tube Slider Course Planet, and has houses and nothing more than three Whittles and a few giant trees. When Mario lands here, a Whittle (or a Gearmo, during the purple coin mission) will reward him with the Power Star for that mission. This planet also appears in the credits, and once one has gained 120 Power Stars or more, a Bee Mushroom will appear on it too, alongside four Whittles.

Green Stars

Green Star 1

Mario and Blimp Yoshi floating to the green star.

The player will redo The Flotacious Blimp Fruit mission. However, instead of going for the Launch Star, the player should make their way to the area with the Life Shroom. Directly above it is the Green Star, which can be easily be obtained by the use of Yoshi.

The player will redo the The Flotacious Blimp Fruit mission again. This time, they should make their way over to the Wood Drum Planet. To get to the Green Star, the player will simply need to fall down the area they are standing on until they see the star in the upper left-hand corner of the log. The player will need to use Yoshi's Flutter Jump though.
