- “Cannonballs often roll along the ground, and many tourists fall trying to evade them. Legends speak of invaders repelling the cannonballs with spears, but no mere mortal could hope to do this, so try not to get too close!”
- —Bowser's Kingdom brochure, Super Mario Odyssey
Firework bombs,[1] also known as cannonballs, are a type of rolling bomb appearing only in Super Mario Odyssey. They appear in Bowser's Kingdom, in the Seaside Kingdom, and on the Dark Side. Firework bombs are either being perpetually shot by fortress turrets, or by raffle through RoboBrood's cannon. They damage Mario upon contact but can be knocked away using a Pokio's beak, similar to Kick Bombs. Firework bombs explode upon contact with a wall, enemy, or block, the latter being destroyed as a result. This explosion generates fireworks.
During the two RoboBrood fights, the firework bombs it shoots can be used to inflict damage.
